The two main ingredients work well in tandem. The turmeric fights inflammation but can irritate the stomach in some people. The ginger helps sensitive stomachs digest the turmeric while the black pepper helps with proper absorption. Keep in mind this is not an overnight miracle cure. Sometimes pain and stiffness relief takes several weeks so be patient.
