Been wanting to get into smoking for a while. Kept doing research on a great smoker to learn on but one that can also pump out some competition style bbq, let me tell you this is the one. Have only used it 3 times so far but absolutly in love with it. Done pork belly, ribs, and a beef shank. All turned out so good. Cannot recommend this smoker enough coming from a beginner like myself.
Excellent! Took two cooks to get the hang of it but makes a smoking rookie feel like a pro. In hindsight I should've bought the bigger one because of increased demand since the food turns out so good. Turkey, chicken and ribs have been elevated; going to do brisket once the Canadian winter subsides. Highly recommended for novice users who want to get into the smoking game.
This was a Father's Day gift and what a gift!!! It's been easy to set up, the videos on the website were very helpful in setting it up, preparing it, and my first efforts using it
This smoker works awesome. I had a very small water smoker before and got rid of it because my Weber kettle was doing the job. I needed more room and the WSM has enough room for my family. Did ribs on it and they turned out excellent. Very easy to use and maintain low temps. I added some 1/4" screen cloth the the charcoal grate and was able to get 6.5hrs of smoking out of a little more than a chimney full of briquettes. If your thinking of buying one, go ahead, what are you waiting for.
I bought this smoker a couple of months ago and absolutely love it. Very simple to use and after a little bit of tweaking I have the temp dialed in. I definitely recommend getting an external thermometer to keep track of smoke and meat temp. I smoked a Boston butt yesterday and it held the temp for 10 hours without having to add any charcoal. I’ve smoked tenderloin, ribs, and shoulder and all have been crowd pleasers. Highly recommend this smoker.
I bought this smoker to replace an old drum style one that had fully depreciated. This one is perfect! I love the double racks, the ample grill space, and the temperature holds perfectly in the "smoke zone" simply by following the directions that came with the unit! I love it.
This is my second Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker. First one is from 1982, 43 years old. Cooked many many times on it over the years with Great results. The new one has many improvements including built in thermometer , larger water pan, heat shield and many other improvements. Looking forward to using the new smoker.
This is the first smoker I’ve ever bought. So far I have cooked 4 packers briskets, 3 racks of baby back ribs, and 1 whole Boston butt. All of them turned out phenomenal. By my third cook I added a weber connect and it makes smoking so much simpler. It’s very easy to maintain temperature for long cooks once you get the 3 vent system dialed in for your climate. I love this smoker and would definitely recommend it to anyone.
I gave this as a gift. Set-up was fast and easy. We watched several YouTube videos and found T-Roy’s the best. Our first smoke was for some baby back ribs they came out amazing!! 10-15 min to light the starter coals then 10-15 to get the smoker up to temp adjust the vents done! Set-it and forget it. Well actually you’ll want to check/tend to your meat every 30 minutes to keep it moist. And just hang by the smoker cuz it’s cool!! Best gift!! We love-it!!
Had a little issue with the door, but a little hand bending and made it fit. Works perfectly now. Used to make brisket, venison sausage and later on, ribs. Came out just perfect. Still learning, so it'll be better as I learn. Overall, very sturdy and commercial grade build.
