There are sooo good and I got them for a really good price too. My local store had them for around $9 [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Great quality and perfect for my Italian Cookie recipe.
I have purchased these Woodstock Organic Black Mission figs about 3 times over the past year. I wholeheartedly recommend these figs - a super healthy snack food. After I improperly stored one of the bags on the shelf after opening, they got covered with a crystallized film - this did NOT impact the flavor or quality, but if you want wholesome foods without preservatives, sometimes that's what you get. I should have kept them in the refrigerator, and after several months, I'm sure any opened bag of dried figs without sulfur dioxide as a preservative would have crystallized a bit. Either way, I chop these up and put into fruit salad or oatmeal for breakfast. They're very sweet. You do have to snip off the very tip of each fig with your fingernail to get the hard/stem part off, but this is part of food prep and is nothing unusual. It's expected with minimally processed food such as this. I keep buying these figs over and over because their taste is very sweet and the quality is consistent.
These figs are fresh and tasty. I poured the entire bag onto a dinner plate to ensure the overall quality. They look wonderful. I had hesitated in buying these figs as was unsure of the quality based on some of the reviews. Glad I ordered, as they are just fine. As a kid we had fig trees, and us kids battled the wasps to pick the fresh milky figs off the tree.
These are not too dry at all. Others may be speaking of low quality thin skinned and bulk processed quickly produced figs that maybe went through a heating process to soften their skins. Which is not a real quality dried fig. I ate the entire bag between two days and a night as they are just so flavorful. I did order another bag since I was drawn to these every few hours. Yes the skin may seem thick but the nutrients are packed in these. But then again I like to eat jerky although these are not that tough. They soften quickly while chewing.
meh, seedy and okay [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
It's not sweet,I like it!:) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Those black figs come very dry and even after soaking them in water during one or two days, they keep too firm. Impossible to eat them without soaking or cooking in a dessert. I do prefer the other Swanson dried figs even though they are more expensive that those ones. They are larger and get more meal, less grains.
the quality of WOODSTOCK ORGANIC MISSION FIGS has gone DOWN. in a major way. the majority of the figs in the bag are dried out, inedible. some pieces are half moist and the other half completely dry. there is no reason for WOODSTOCK to package such an inferior quality product, nor for SWANSON to pass this on to their customers. thank you.
I ordered the Woodstock brand organic mission figs because of the high customer ratings. I will not make that mistake again. These figs were as dry as leather, shriveled up lumps, and tasteless. For the price, I would have been better of buying the Sun Maid or Great Value brands which are of equal poor quality. Do not purchase this brand of figs, you may end up as disappointed as myself. Just because a fruit is dried doesn't mean it has to be leathery and tasteless. Definitely over-dried.
