This is the second model of this bike that I've owned and I love it. It arrived with a damaged tire from shipping. Kent/BCA sent out a replacement tire that arrived days later. Now I'm riding again and loving it. Very impressed with their exceptional customer service.
Excellent bike for the price point and quality. Looks aesthetically pleasing and rides smooth. If you’re looking to get some exercise in this is an excellent purchase. Don’t mistake this for an off-road mountain bike. I asked Walmart to build the bike for me upon delivery and they did it in a few hours, thank you Walmart team.
Not a great bike, but not a bad bike either; especially for $125. I bought this when our gym closed because of the virus and I wanted an inexpensive bike to get some exercise. I forgot how much fun it is to ride a bike. Over the past 3 weeks I've probably put more miles on this bike than on my car. Not really a stretch as there's no where to drive to. THE BAD: 1) Gears were a bit of a hassle to set. I'm mechanically inclined, yet I understand why some said they had to take it to a bike shop. It's not particularly easy. But, once you get it right it's a decent ride. 2) Tire went flat after the first ride and the chain guard broke off, but BSA replaced them quickly. 3) Seat could be more comfortable. THE GOOD: 1) The price is right for the everyday man. If you're looking a bike to tool around the neighborhood with your kids or go on a 10 mile bike gaunt and occasionally ride over some grass, this bike will fill the bill - it's not meant for the Tour de France. ;) 2) Free home delivery. The bike arrived 4 day's after placing my order. 3) With 29" wheels and a large frame, it's great for the 6'+ group. 4) Front disc brake is a nice bonus. 5) Made in America. 6) BSA's customer care folks are very peasant to deal with and were quick to respond. Would I recommend it to a friend? Sure. Not all of us dress in spandex and aerodynamic helmets. Some of us just want to go out for a bike ride.
There is no derailer hanger on the frame. That's my main gripe with this bike. The derailer is slotted into the same hole as the axle. Besides that it's a usable bike(I bought this bike because I wanted some cheap handlebars for my old bike %26 unfortunately it's about 1”1/2 shorter than my old forks)
After recieving the bike we noticed the peddle was broken and figure we could just replace it, not a big deal. BUT after owning the bike for ONLY 3 MONTHS i have had to replace the tube in the tire and now i have to replace the tire itself!!! I thought my kid ran something over but now after inspecting the bike the tires, front and back, THEY ARE DRY ROTTED!!!!! ITS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!!! SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE AND DO NOT PURCHASE THIS BIKE!!!!!!
My handle bars came with a stripped allen screw in it or over tightened. The second screw loosened just fine. So now i have to figure that out. Who can I contact? I ordered online.
The seat post clamp and binder bolt are not in the package. Bike appears to be well made but can't tell much without being able to properly install the seat. My boys big present and today's Christmas. We'll have to wait on businesses to open and see what happens about the missing parts.
I will have to contact the supplier since the front aluminum wheel of the bike came bent. I have already made all the adjustments indicated in the user manual but it is definitely bent. I had already assembled the bike, I tried it out riding and after adjusting the wheel many times as indicated in the manual, I realized that the aluminum wheel was bent. I don't know if it was during shipping? I hope they can send me an undamaged front wheel quickly. Thanks.
I bought this for my boyfriend and he's almost put more money into it than what I paid for it. There was a manufacturer issue with one of the rims. We had to take it to a local bike shop, where while trying to figure out the issue, it went through 3 tubes (special tubes that were bought to protect from puncture) before they figured it out (total cost of $100). The chain changes on its own, which causes the pedals to back track, causing the pedals to tear into the back of his legs and a few times causing him to wreck where he's broken his phone, sunglasses, and lost a few things. One of these wrecks were in the middle of a busy intersection where he flipped over the handlebars. Buying this bike was the worst thing I believe I've bought in my 47 years of life. A $200 bike has actually costed more around $400 after replacing a cell phone, glasses, etc and repairs. I highly DO NOT recommend.
DO NOT BUY. Don't waste your time on this bike. Parts were broken and Walmart would not accept the return of a partially assembled bike that can't fit back in the box. I will never buy a bike from Walmart again. Customer service failed at every level.
