Great price and very fresh. My son sent me a kit for homemade pretzels. They were very good so I saved the recipe and was anxious to try it again. I bought the fresh GV yeast and it did not disappoint. The pretzels were delicious, rose just the right amount. The batter was very easy to work with and was not sticky and rose the exact amount it should during the brief resting. If you are a great cook/baker, your results using this yeast will be spectacular and if you find baking a challenge as I do, this superior yeast will make your attempt a success. Heck, I might even give sourdough another shot!

This specific active dry yeast foamed when adding water, showing that the yeast was active, per the instructions. The packaging for the yeast is waterproof. You can not easily tear the packaging, which may cause the yeast to spill. There were approximately 2 1/4 teaspoons of yeast in each package. The yeast should not be opened near a wet surface because you may lose product due to its not-very-easy to tear packaging. It is difficult to reseal the yeast packaging. This specific active dry yeast does not seem different than other brands.

Believe or not... Walmart's yeast "Great Value" it's one of the best alternatives for baking. I don't buy bread at the store, we make our own bread at home. Chutas! (Peruvian bread made out of Quinwa, Quiwicha, Amaranto y wheat Flour, I also make Challa, Jewish bread o as we call this bread in Cusco - Peru... Pan de huevo! Don't hesitate to buy Walmart's yeast " Great Value", whether it's the full strength or the fast acting, both are equally GREAT11

I have been buying Great Value yeast for several years now and do not see any difference in the quality between this and the much more expensive national brands.

when i make my pandesalllll, d only yeast i use. u can never go wrong in every 3 -4 cups of flour. and its affordable too.

What's not to love? Just open the package and pour it into a bowl with some flour and water a little salt and Boom! you got bread!

It will work if you can't find other brands of yeast. However, I found that my breads were significantly less fluffy than when I used the Fleischmann's brand yeast despite proper use.

This is the second time I purchased it the first time it was expired and my bread didn't rise. This time it was not expired but bread still had a hard time rising and it didn't bubble the way it was supposed to after mixing with warm water and sitting. Bread came out ok but will be using a better rated brand of active dry yeast.

I ordered a JAR of yeast that cost way more than this dinky little $1.14 packet. its barely enough to make a batch of bread. if youre going to substitute $5.00 worth of yeast at least make it 4 packets!!!!! it's not rocket science.
