Oak wood charcoal is an excellent choice for grilling. It's very easy to light and burns evenly, making cooking simple and efficient. The best part is the rich, natural flavor it adds to food, giving a perfect smoky taste. A great option for anyone who loves delicious barbecue with minimal effort.
B%26B lump charcoal is my go to product I use in my Hunsaker drum smoker. I find the burn to be consistent and it leaves almost no ash. I have yet to discover small rocks, wire or metal pieces, and there are no huge chunks of charcoal. Walmart has the best price per bag and they deliver for free!
I have used B%26B charcoal for a while and I am happy with how it burns and flavor. The only complaint if you want to call it that is some of the lump pieces are small. Nothing wrong with that I just think the pieces should be a little bit bigger. It's still the best.
This is the first bag of lump charcoal that I have bought it burns hotter lights quick and you can put the ashes of it around in your garden it don't have all the added chemicals and stuff added to it I love it I have already bought another bag of it
This charcoal lasts longer than most. Genuine lump, charcoal, great for low and slow or high heat. On my BGE I can reuse the charcoal after a barbecue a couple of times if you cut off the oxygen when finished.
Pros: Good mix of hardwoods. Flavor is well done and not harsh. Large bag for longer Smokes. Price is very good in comparisons not great but decent. Cons: not as many larger chunks as some other brands. (Kamando Joes large lump is best, but price has inflated greatly this year). Burns a little fast.
Cheap, but sparks a lot. If it weren't for that, then it would be a great deal. The sparks sends tiny pieces of charcoal all over the food rendering it inedible least you want to eat bits of charcoal. There is also a sense of fear whether it'll land on your skin or into your eyes after the first few times that it happens.
I see that a lot of people really like this charcoal. I must have gotten a bum bag. It was about 20% actual powder and pieces way too small for my chimney (a standard Weber chimney). Another 20% or so were pieces way too LARGE to fit in the chimney- what looked like whole tree branches and other odd things. I tried breaking the large pieces apart with a hammer but got only more powder and tiny pieces. I finally handpicked suitable pieces nd threw the rest away. Even then I had a hard time. The coals didn't light properly - usually it takes one wad of paper to get things going, but with this charcoal I needed to try 2 to 3 times. Even though it seems popular I'm staying away. No more B%26B for me.
Simply put it didn't burn. I had a couple handfuls of Royal Oak left over and I added them to the B%26B branches that we're at the top of the bag. The Royal Oak all burned away the branches are still there and a lot of the chunks of B%26B.
This was a disaster! The “lumps “ were tree branches! HUGE. They would not even fit in my fire starter . I tried to use hammer …. just a complete mess. They might work in large grill but not in my medium sized kettle grill.
