Bob's Red Mill, Hot Cereal, High Fiber, Oat Bran, 18 oz

Very tasty and high in protein. I HAVE had a nurse practitioner warn me that if you don't have a good consumption of water it can clog your intestines, but this has never happened to me. I drink a fair amount of water and am not a super-busy person, so it qualifies as “good fiber.”

I'm a big fan of whole grain nonGMO oats with bitterness notes in them but you can't get these anymore. This oat barn is really close to what I'm used to eating back in the days , I eat it for breakfast with 2 eggs over easy , beef patty, steamed green beans , hot barn porridge with salt , pepper , real butter , ( in the boiled lightly salted water, put some of this barn , cover your pot with the lid , set it aside and let it steep for 10 minutes, add butter at the end , you ain't gotta do much) . I've heard that barn won't raise your blood sugar levels as high as regular oatmeal, your body can't get enough of it , I'm ready to reorder again .

This oat bran is so delicious, and I enjoy it for breakfast. I mix water, some oatmeal, cinnamon, a dash of salt, and a bit of sweetener with it when I cook it. When I eat it I like to add some nondairy milk to the top. It may sound like a lot of work, but it's so easy to do, and it fills me up and holds me until lunchtime.

I truly enjoy this oat bran! My husband and I eat this for breakfast and we make it according to our tastes. We cook it in milk and when soft add peanut butter, cinnamon and cardamon powder but no sugar or salt. Cooked oat bran lends itself to variety of added flavors and ingredients. It is also great by itself. Give it a try. Experiment with favorite ingredients. You may start a new tradition......

I wanted to be more “regular“ and was first advised to use psyllium, but I found that the sourcing of it can be suspect and difficult to get high-quality; then I researched & discovered this finely-milled milled oat bran provides the same benefits. I absolutely love it. I have it every day in my Greek yogurt and doing very well on it compared to before I started using it. It doesn't have to be cooked. It may be eaten as-is.

Delicious and has 7 g of fiber per serving. The bag is reclosable as opposed to a box that doesn't close properly. You can take it with you on a trip to make your own delicious hot breakfast.

Reminds me of the old Cream of Wheat, same texture. This version is healthier. I add a bit of brown sugar. Easy and quick to make.
