Bob's Red Mill Vital Wheat Gluten Flour, 20 oz

You can make your own bread flour with all purpose unbleached flour ( King Arthur is great ) and vital wheat gluten. Saw on YouTube's Little Hill Homestead that you mix one teaspoon of vital wheat gluten per one cup of all purpose flour. Please double check just to be sure I got the amounts right. Think this would be cheaper than buying bread flour. I did make a loaf of bread with a mix of bread flour and all purpose flour mixed with vital wheat gluten. It tasted the same as bread made with bread flour.

I like to add this to my homemade bread dough as it adds additional protein and helps the structure and rise. so far I've been very pleased with the consistency of this brand. I've tried others that didn't do much at all.

Great product! Make bread and baked goods have bread crumb(holds shape slices well when cooled). Keeps freshness.

Great to add to baking dough. A little goes a long way.

Helps in making whole wheat, rye and other grain breads.

I've only used it once and it worked out well. I didn't like the taste of the product after it was made but that's something I can adjust with seasoning.

I'm glad I ordered the gluten. I make my own whole grain bread and gluten is necessary. My only complaint is that it was shipped with other items. Bag had a hole in the bag by the time I received it. Would have been better if it was wrapped in bubble wrap or paper to prevent hole in container.
