Not everyone needs a double boiler but if you love cooking like me I totally regretted deep sixing my ancient double boiler I left behind when I retired to AZ Moved cross country so a LOT had to go So second thing after retiring I found myself without proper cooking equipment for my renewed interest in cooking from scratch So needed to update my cookware First was investing in everything I left behind kitchen wise especially baking stuff and spices and all the things (especially liquids, that I could not ship cross country My next door neighbor got all my liquid laundry stuff, cleaning supplies, etc…I buy in bulk when a great sale comes up I decided to move to AZ to be with my son again he had been begging me to come down So I literally got a realtor and sold it in about 2 weeks Starter homes were in HUGE demand So I didn't have time to reflect just get rid of a ton of stuff I accumulated in this house I lived in 30 years Hence Tramontina came into my life Love at first sight

I am really excited about this item. The double boiler I already have is still in storage with everything else I own so I bought a new one which is honestly so much better! This one comes with its own bottom pot that fits perfectly! You won't have to worry about sloppy fitting, steam leaking around the edges of the top pot or anything. This will do nicely for your melting purposes. The bottom pot also has a nice thick bottom which my husband says is a good thing so bonus points for that.

I gave this Double pan set 5 stars all around, It is a nice weight and size. I wanted it for making sauces and it fits the bill. The price is fair and I am sure I will get lots of use out of it. Another plus is that it has a glass lid which I personally love. A great little pan.

It's keep the food from burning when you are cooking with it specially pudding mix it a great way to make pudding.

I actually haven't used mine yet, seeing I ordered it after the new year. Both pieces seem to be well made, sturdy and good quality. I'm looking forward to using it.

Very nice double boiler. Used it to dip my peanut butter balls during the holidays. They came out wonderful and were a huge hit. This item is a great size and an affordable price. I hope to have it for many years to come.

I used it to make an herbal remedy for varicose veins for a friend of mine. It worked great.!

The item was exactly what I needed and wanted: a double-boiler.

It's not a 2qt top double boiler. They unfortunately don't stress that the top part isn't a 2 qt size. That's the most important feature that I needed. The pan is made beautifully but it's too small so I returned.
