I am seventy five years old.My mother has always used crisco.Even when we didn't have enough money, she'd still buy crisco. she always use crisco to make our tortillas homemade tortillas, so I follow her steps and I use crisco myself. You all are the best.Thank you for making such a great product
This cooking companion is a total game-changer! I'm obsessed with how it helps me whip up delicious meals in no time. Frying, cooking, baking - it does it all! And, let's be real, it's PERFECT for making dumplings! My family's always raving about my dumplings, and this baby gets the credit 😊!
This shortening is one of the few things that has not changed in taste, quality and performance. When I want to make certain to get tasty fluffy biscuits, Crisco is the WAY I GO. I keep it in the refrigerator just as an added precaution to maintain its freshness because I don't use it everyday. The outside wrapper is updated but the product is the same as 50 years ago.
Crisco is still the best shortening for baking, in my experience. It's gotten very pricey, but all of the the cheaper brands I have tried tasted like petroleum to me. This retro-looking red, white, and blue label with the pie is the new look (summer 2025 or earlier) for the larger cans. No more bright blue label. But it's the same great Crisco.
I used it to make my biscuits, all the time, make real good home made biscuits, you can also cook with it like fried chicken, etc. I am a senior 78 and I stand by it.
I decorate cakes for others. I always splurge on Crisco to use for my icing recipe combined with salt-free butter. Everyone loves the icing taste and consistency.
Have used Crisco in my deep fryer for 10 years. Does not leave a greasy after taste and food not greasy. Keep Crisco clean in fryer and can be used for several times.
Have always loved Cisco for making my Southern Fried Chicken. For at least 45-50 yrs. My Southern MIL taught me how to cook it and it's the best if I do say so myself. Kids always asked for Fried Chicken for their birthday dinner. Me??? Lobster! 😂 But definitely love my SFC cooked in Crisco.
I usually purchase Great Value shortening but it was out of stock so I got this instead. Crisco works just the same except it costs around $1.70 more for the same size container. I'm content with the baking results from Crisco but will probably not purchase again unless the kind I normally buy is out of stock again.
Where's the plastic lid to seal the container after each use? There wasn't one on the can I received when I picked up my order. I'm looking thru my trash to find the lid off the old can. This is the reason for my lower review. I love Crisco but the lack of it having a lid is upsetting. vThank you.
