I buy one of these classic toasters every 5 or so years when its predecessor finally gives up the ghost. I'm glad something that works for the long haul is still being made. Classic, simple design that fits into any kitchen scheme I've ever had. Suggestion: run this puppy thru a cycle or two before loading it up with bread.
This toaster is stainless steel and displays no plastic material. There are tactile button presets with a dial which I find very precise! The cord is long enough but not a “jump”rope. The feet are the only plastic, not in sight but you don't want to scratch your expensive counter tops. The most unusual defensive quality is that the toaster has an automatic off during power surges.I didn't know that but I contacted Cuisinart for more information about safety on my toaster because it stopped working and wasn't a power surge or outlet overload, but a piece of toast lodged between the element and the toasting slot.I dislodged and the toaster now was ready again!Buy a Cuisinart “anything”and let time tell in 30 years what your appliance shares it's life with you.
The Cuisinart toaster is really cool. I haven't had a toaster for about a year. It's great to get the Cuisinart brand! It really works at any setting light, dark or in between! I love my new toaster! I haven't tried everything yet, but I'm sure defrosting eggo's, browning hot pockets, and heating anything you can put in a toaster will make my money worth it! Sincerely, Sue
I'm glad we purchased this toaster, though I wish the selector dial felt more firm, and landed right where you want it to land. It's a bit soft, but you just have to watch where it is. Hard to know exactly what # to choose, but we're finding out what # NOT to choose. I toasted frozen waffles, chose the frozen button, and the bottom half of the waffle was really dark, the top much less so. It's a learning curve, I guess. But it has nice heft to it and cord is a good length. Overall, we're pleased.
Excellent toaster! Toasts bread evenly and slots are wide enough for bagels or Texas toast! And it looks good, stainless steel and not that light weight plastic stuff that you can get. Good price too!
Seems like most toasters suffer the same deficiency in that they don’t toast evenly on both sides of the bread. This one seems a little better than the Breville unit that I just tossed out after years of frustration. Haven’t used all the functions on this toaster yet so I’m keeping my fingers crossed. I would have liked a light indicator to tell me how close the toasting cycle is to being finished.
I am used to the smart toaster, when the bread is toasting the light from the desired setting starts blinking allowing you to know approximately when the bread is about done and it is evenly toasted. This style is not like that, so it is taking a bit to get used to. However, once you get used to it the bread toasts okay, a bit uneven though. I would not recommend.
I want to return my toaster ASAP. I had the same toaster for 16 years that worked great until it finally wore out. Bought the same toaster but VERY disappointed. Have to push toaster knob down several times for it to latch and toast. When bread pops up its not toasted properly I push knob down to continue toasting the slice holders will not latch.
Huge waste of money. We have had this toaster for a month and are shopping for a new one. It takes multiple attempts to get the bread to stay down and we have still not found the position on the dial that actually toasts the bread without burning it. Quite frankly it is a piece of junk.
Disappointing toaster. It does not toast evenly on both sides of bread; one side is perfect and the other side is too light. Sometimes the bar to start the toaster will not stay down and I need to try 3 or 4 times. The toaster also feels very tinny. I do not recommend this product. I thought Cuisinart would make a good product. This one does not live up to their reputation.
