Cuisinart Toasters 4 Slice Countdown Metal Toaster, New, CPT-435P1

I'm extremely happy with this toaster. It has just the right balance of features and simplicity. Its Bagel, Reheat, and Defrost are the most useful features for a toaster -- anything more is superfluous for most people. I really like the LCD display that counts down even though I prefer analog controls in my car dashboards and clocks. My only suggestion is to make the beeping at the end of the toasting optional. Very few people are going to leave the kitchen when toasting is active and the three beeps are kind of annoying in the serenity of the morning. The display is large enough to see when toasting is done and you can hear the toaster pop up under nearly all circumstances. Performance is very good as it toasts quite evenly and can handle thick slices and bagels. I also think it looks very sharp on our breakfast bar with its modern lines and display, but easy-functioning traditional buttons and levers for operation. The price was also very good for a toaster of this quality and functionality. Good job, Cuisinart!!

This is a Great Bread & Bagel Toaster! The slide out crumb trays are awesome. After one gets used to the new appliance, it is easy to use all the fabulous settings. I have not “over done” any breads yet!

The toaster is not only attractive but it has a setting that is easy to choose the correct number for toast, muffins and bagels. Numbers 4 is perfect for toast but number 5 or 6 makes perfect English muffins.

We are very pleased with this purchase. Having four slots means one of us doesn't have to wait if we both want a bagel for breakfast! The toaster is attractive and is unobtrusive on the counter.

As you all know there are numerous toasters on the market today. After searching through many and I mean over 50 we chose this particular toaster for our needs. We couldn't be happier. The functions are perfect. They are precise and clear and I also like the design of the toaster as well. Don't hesitate on this toaster it's worth its price in gold.

A very nice toaster ruined by the unnecessary and unwanted completion bell that is so loud that the unit is unusable until everyone in the house is fully awake. And bonus - there is no way to silence it!

Have been using the toaster for a couple weeks now. It makes great toast, and has a bagel setting that only toasts on one side if you want. (We go through a lot of bagels sometimes.) The countdown LED display is nice, but not really needed. Also, it beeps when the toast pops up, sounds exactly like when the coffee maker is done brewing. It has one flaw that could be trouble. The primary thing you need to do with a toaster is push down a handle so the bread drops into the slot and the heat comes on. The handles, or rather the levers that handles are attached to are very flimsy stamped sheet metal. When you push the handles down, they flex and twist bit because you need to push fairly hard to make them lock down. Especially the right one, it feels like it going to bend before it locks.

As with many expensive toasters the cuisenart is just the same. It doesn’t toast both sides evenly. One side is nice and toasted but the other side is only half toasted. I’m sick of buy toasters. We had a Kitchen AID and it was exactly the same. They replaced the first one and the replacement was the same problem. Perhaps your company should consider making toasters in the US.

We had this same model, but in the automatic version (no longer available), which lasted about 6 years. Bought this model, so that my 93-year-old mother would not have to learn how to operate a different toaster. All four slots have uneven toasting--either the back or front side of the bread does not toast, or the left or right side of the bread does not toast. Totally unsatisfactory for any toaster AND especially for a $100.00 Cuisinart. Toasters have been on the market for something like 100 years. Can't understand why something so simple cannot operate reliably. Returning this and looking for a less expensive brand.

I have had two identical Cuisinart 4-slice toasters, both with the same problem. I will not try another, despite whatever other reviews are. In both toasters, with slices for four pieces of toast (four slots totaling eight sides), one of the eight sides of one of the slots for browning, does not heat properly. In that slot, one side of that toast is virtually untoasted. It is exactly the same slot and same side of the slot in both toasters.
