If you're looking for a flavorful sauce this is it. It has a tanginess that sticks out because of the butternut squash, and yet doesn't overwhelm the flavors of other items. There's no acidic or bitterness that you sometimes experience with other red sauces! Hands down my fave
We have used Dave's squash mix for years as a method of tuning down pasta sauce, add some great additional flavors. It's unfortunate our local Walmart doesn't stock it anymore, that I have to order it online.
I think this will work well with cut sausage bits. It also invites the use of alternative pastas made from other than wheat. Jar is more convenient than a can for single people.
Great taste! Add ground turkey and Italian seasoning to make a wonderful different type of spagetti sauce!
This replace tomato sauce for those of us who can't eat tomato sauce due to the acidity! Add whatever spices you want for whatever you are making. Highly recommend it! Delish !
Very delicious just pricey
My husband really likes this sauce but unfortunately it's not available in store anymore. Now it's always a gamble on whether or not it is going to be damaged in transit. Three of the last 4 orders were damaged in transit; two of them were refunded before even getting here. Yesterday's was delivered unbroken but somehow there is dried sauce all over the outside of the jars. Either the warehouse was filthy or the jars have false seals but as such, even though I received a refund, I will never buy this again.
I love sweets. Love sugar. But this was so sickenly sweet that I tossed it and opened a jar of Raos, my usual brand. This definitely didn't need the extra 6-7g of added sugar. It also tasted oddly like baby food. I can't explain that. Cannot recommend.
Order was cancelled as it was no longer available! So I NEVER GOT IT! So why keep asking me to review SOMETHING I DID NOT GET!!! Take it off my Walmart App for Gosh sakes!!!
I unfortunately didn't get a chance to try the sauce, both jars arrived broken. The jars weren't wrapped in anyway to protect them only brown paper between the jars. Walmart of course refunded my money quickly but I really wanted the sauce.
