Farberware Hands-Free Battery-Operated Black Can Opener in Red

This can opener is great! I have rheumatoid arthritis so using a regular electric can opener is difficult. I tried this one out and I love it! There’s a line on the can opener to tell you where to put it on the can. Then you just push a button and it goes slowly around the whole can until it opens it! Plus, the way it works is around the can top, so you don’t have the little metal piece down in the can that has to be gotten out. You just lift the top off like a lid, no sharp edges! Definitely a great idea for people with arthritis or carpal tunnel, anything that makes it hard to use your hands!

I have owned several battery operated can openers. They were flimsy and hard to navigate. This is by far the sturdiest and substantial hands-free can opener that I have ever used. I highly recommend.

So I purchased because my brother showed me one he bought for himself and as gifts for family members. his was smaller and had builtin rechargeable battery. This one runs on 3 AA Batteries and does not seem to have the strength to last. Will just have to wait and see.

I just bought this can opener. While I was preparing dinner last night I opened two cans then noticed little shards of metal on the edges of the can rims. At first I thought it was thin pieces of label paper, but when I touched some to get it off, I got stuck with a tiny piece of metal which actually caused my finger to bleed. I hope no-one ends up with shards of metal in their esophagus or stomach. This can opener should be taken off the market immediately! See pictures provided with this review.

It’s easy to use and leaves the lid smooth around the edges. A FATAL FLAW, however, is that it grinds the rim of the can into splinters and tiny metal shards that fall into the food. Not safe! I will be returning asap and will stick to the classic can opener from now on, even if it does leave sharp edges and take up counter space.

The package is hard to open. The battery panel is hard to open. I tried three different can sizes and it only worked on one.

Bought it yesterday, and it doesn't work. I followed the instructions, i watched video, tried to help it still doesn't open can.
