I like the service I like the fact they don't raise the prices from what I would pay if I went to the store they bag it they do my substitutes contact me if they can't they deliver it in a timely fashion bring it up to my door always friendly I absolutely could not ask for more
I thought they'd be a hotter "medium" but they were pretty good. My brother %26 I like hot %26 hubby prefers medium - so for him this was good. We put it into a recipe %26 so it wasn't a direct taste ... but I took a small taste before %26 really thought it was pretty good. Honestly, I probably should've bought 2 cans for the recipe - I was trying a new recipe %26 it was a large batch white chicken chili %26 a little more zip would've been nice - it did seem like a small can for all that was going in - but that's on me, maybe they were aiming for very mild flavor. I would definitely buy again to use in other things.
I am not sure how to talk about these as I only ever use them 'in' mixed into other things or meals. Because they are small, I often use them in with other things to make sure they go farther. I'll mix them with diced tomatoes. Or I will mix them with diced onions. Oftentimes I mix them in with jalapeno peppers as well as those other things. So it is hard for me to comment on them beyond this. I like them for the accent flavors the provide in my dishes. They are not overwhelming, but the help add a dimension and depth that would otherwise be lacking.
Just used these the other day in dinner(Cowboy Caviar). ; ) ALWAYS, great to have on hand. to spice up something and for a veg. Been using this product a long time. YES, I would recommend this product. : ) And, this one as well ( https://www.walmart.com/ip/Cazo-de-Oro-14oz-Tortilla-Chip/14757607970?athAsset=eyJhdGhjcGlkIjoiMTQ3NTc2MDc5NzAiLCJhdGhzdGlkIjoiQ1MwMjAiLCJhdGhhbmNpZCI6Ikl0ZW1DYXJvdXNlbCIsImF0aHJrIjowLjE0NzAxfQ==%26athena=true%26athbdg=L1100 ) Go great together.
These are GREAT! Because I am gluten-intolerant, I find myself making lots of enchiladas, and nearly all of them call for a 4-ounce can of chopped green chilies. For the price, you can't do better than these! Great flavor, not too spicy, not a whole lot of juice, and I just dump in the whole can called for in the recipe. RECOMMEND!
I did a taste and smell test on GV Green Chiles verses 2 name brands (which I will not name). I use green chiles in a variety of dishes I make for my family. They are not just for Mexican dishes either. I must say GV brand was as good as both name brands, and with the best price. So, I would say try it, see what you think. Or do your own test taste and prove it to yourself.
I bought this because the label says "fire roasted and peeled." They may have removed the peel, but they still put it in the can, as it contains plenty of pieces of peel. They're big pieces, too. If you want just the flesh of the pepper, you'll have to get it elsewhere.
I PURCHASED THIS Great Value Canned Medium Diced Green Chiles, 4 oz QUITE A WHILE AGO. THE ONLY THING RECALL ABOUT THIS ITEM IS THE OVER SALTINESS. MANY GREAT VALUE -CANNED- PRODUCTS HAVE THIS IN COMMON. TOO BAD AS THE QUALITY DOES SUFFER. COME ON, WALMART.COM I AM CERTAIN YOU CAN DO BETTER. HOW ABOUT MORE LOW SODIUM PRODUCTS? BETTER STILL, WHY NOT OFFER *****NO SODIUM**** PRODUCTS?!!
I give it a one star because the person working the pick up told me that they were out of stock. Well obviously he didn't know where they were so I had to go in and find them myself. I do pick up because I don't want to go in, I use a walker to walk , for just one or a few things i use pick up.
I used to love this green chile (especially in my cheesy noodles). But the last 2 cans I've bought have been A LOT of chile skin. pretty much a waste of money. I don't have time to pick through each can and pull out the skin. I'll move on to another brand. *Picture below is from my noodles, which I added 3 forks of chile.
