I bought this rice with hope in my heart and an empty stomach, and let me tell you — it showed up exactly as rice, with no apologies. The grains arrived in a large, judgmental bag, whispering, “You again?” as I lifted it. Upon cooking, the rice did what rice has done for centuries: it absorbed water, expanded slightly, and refused to add any personality of its own. Bold choice. Texture? Somewhere between “respectable” and “you forgot the salt again.” Flavor? If silence had a taste, this would be it. A blank canvas so committed to neutrality that even my spices felt awkward trying. Cooking instructions were optimistic. “Simmer for 18 minutes.” It took 25, a prayer, and light emotional bargaining. That said — credit where credit is due — this rice showed up for the job. It didn’t burn, explode, or question my life choices. It simply existed, loyally, like a starch-based emotional support animal. Would I buy it again? Yes. Not because it dazzled me — but because it understands its role in the universe.
I have no complaints when it comes to buying Jasmine rice great value brand jasmine rice. It has not disappointed me yet. Flavor is great texture is great. Price is great. No complaints if you know how to cook rice and you know how to fall cook rice there should be no problem Jasmine rice oh, I'm sorry. Great value Jazmine rice 10 out of 10.
Great value brand is one of my favorite brands not only is it a great price but most of the time what you buy taste just like the real brand and this rice is one of them. How can you spend more on other brands when it’s literally just rice. I think all rice is equal And you can’t really taste a difference unless it is a different type of rice grain or brown rice . this bag was very big and filled to the top. The bag itself was very thick and had a zip seal so when you open it, you can seal the bag back. I was very shocked in the quality of the bag itself, especially for the price. I definitely recommend this rice to anyone.
I would say hands down. This is the only way I use in my home. It’s easier to cook and it comes out the way I want to and it’s super great quality.this is the only rice I use in my home. It's easier to cook and it comes out the way I want to and it's super great quality.
The rice is one for the ages. Over the years, I have constantly used this rice for countless recipes. All of them turned out great. The rice is truly 5 lbs and packed with flavor. It only takes a few minutes to cook, and the texture is very nice. This is the first rice ever that I don't even add butter or oil because it is juicy on its own.
If cooked right, it’s the best rice ever! 1 cup jasmine rice ▢ 1 1/4 cups water (cold tap water) Place rice and water in a medium saucepan (one with a tight fitting lid). Bring to rapid simmer with NO LID on medium high. Turn down to low or medium low so it's simmering gently, then place lid on. Do not lift lid during cook. Cook 12 minutes or until water is absorbed by rice – tilt pot to check (if lid not glass, then QUICKLY lift lid to check). Keep the lid on then remove from heat. Stand 10 minutes, fluff with rubber spatula or rice paddle, then serve.
I usually just get the cheap long grain rice, decided to splurge just a bit this time and am very happy I did! I am not a huge rice guy, I get it because it is cheap and easy to store and lasts a lot longer than potatoes. This Jasmine rice was very good, I ate a bowl plain as soon as it was done, which is unheard of for me.
It's like Jasmine herself grew this rice. I knew Jasmine was a legend in the rice world but I'm so glad she sells her rice for such a good price. Why would I buy anything else? That would be crazy. Right? Right! Yeah, you know what I'm taking about.
Always buy this brand. This time what was sent - even though it said it was jasmine rice on the package - was definitely NOT jasmine rice. It cooked differently, the grain looked different, and it did not have the jasmine rice distinctive smell. I added the same amount of water and it ended up being gooey and terribly sticky. Make sure you package the correct rice. This was junk rice.
Upon opening product, there were worms in the rice! It wasn't expired, opened and there were no holes in the product. The worms got in at the production plant 😬🥴
