Easy to use %26 easy to clean and put away! Good blending power- it's actually fun to use it! I say “Don't stir it… Blend it!” Best $15 I've ever spent!
Bought for my mom. she had originally purchased a battery operated one from sams club and it wouldn't charge, so i bought her this one. she has carpal tunnel and arthritis in her wrist and hands and has absolutely no problems with holding it or disassembling it. its a little on the heavy side but not so heavy your arm gets tired. its not super loud as her battery operated one was. as with any electronic i recommend getting the warranty just in case
This is a great hand blender! It worked well on a butternut squash and tomato soup I made. I also attempted a smoothie and it turned out good. It was a little chunky on the smoothie, so I’ll probably just use it on soups. I attempted to use the chopper, but not sure I knew exactly how to use it because it ended up pummeling my onion and turned into an onion smoothie! I have yet to use the milk frother and whisk, but am overly satisfied with my purchase.
I love the weight of it. I love that you have the whisk attachment as well. I love that it’s easy to use and easy to clean. The only downside of this product is that you don’t have a button that can lock it in the running position. If I’m really whipping some thing up my hand tends to start to cramp from having to hold the on button.
This is my 4th immersion blender, this one is a gift! However , this blender arrived in a soiled beat up box, that had been opened and taped back with a good deal of tape, not a patch!( im glad it wasn't through a registry, embarrassing) i didnt bother to open the box and i am returning it right away. but i just ordered a replacement, I hope it is new blender , in a new unopened box!
I read the reviews and decided to buy this blender anyway, in part because I needed one immediately. It’s not ideal. Like some other buyers have reported, the blender creates a suction that makes it stick to the bottom of the container it’s being used in. I tried to keep it away from the bottom, but it kept happening anyway. Trying to move it away from the bottom of the container once the suction happens results in liquid splattering everywhere even more than normal. I expected this based on the reviews, and stuck the shaft through a paper plate as a makeshift lid/shield against splatter. I still ended up with soup all over me and my kitchen in addition to the paper plate being totally covered in it. The only way to actually prevent the splatter is to let go of the button and let the blender turn off before you remove it, but the suction happens almost instantly, so that isn’t much help in terms of actually blending the food. You can leave the blender where it is for a bit once it gets “stuck” to the bottom of the container, but it vibrates so much against the surface it’s stuck to that I was afraid it would damage either the surface of the pot I was using or the blender itself. The depth of the liquid I was blending was probably about 5 inches, and unfortunately it seems like it would need to be deeper in order for this blender to work well, which isn’t very realistic in many applications.
Got this to blend tomato sauce, baby food, soups, etc. If the item you want to blend is on the thicker side, this is not ideal. The side holes are high up on the sides, so it's easy to spray the food everywhere. Its powerful, but honestly it's difficult to stop the wand from being sucked down to the bottom of the pot. It blends decently, but it's more difficult to manage than I had hoped. Overall, I would not purchase again.
I was disappointed to read the instructions that stated, "don't use over heat source". Perhaps, I am wrong about my intended us. However, the purpose for me to use this type of device is the constant, long-time whipping of ingredients in a pot on the stove. I'm finding that some other immersion product's descriptions do not mention that you can't use over heat source. It's in the little insert that comes in the product. Perhaps, my use is not other cooks/chef's use.
In the beginning, it would stop blending even in water and it smelled hot. We decided to just let it burn up and it stopped freezing up and blends fine now, but it still smells from it over heating. As soon as i can I'm going to get a different brand and toss this one out.
I did read reviews before buying this, but thought that the blade area design looked so much like my old Oster, that the reviewers who said the Hamilton Beach sucked onto the bottom of the mixer cup must be exaggerating - or using too small a cup. Nope!!! Using a cup that came with an immersion blender and has worked fine with multiple immersion blender brands, the Hamilton Beach's suction does splash the liquid all over the counter even when the cup is only half full. Do NOT buy this one1 Also the pieces that lock the blade portion onto the motor portion are plastic, so I imagine that they would break at some point - and don't think you don't need to remove and clean that portion. Liquid does work itself up the stick of any immersion blender.
