The only thing I have to say about this was that I thought it was bigger from the picture but it's not hard to use. And the next time I buy one, I'll make sure I can grind more with a single grind.. I use it for a coarse grind for a french press coffee maker and it works ok for that as I only need to grind enough for 2 cups at a time.
My espresso tastes better and comes out frothier than with my previous electric grinder. It looks good and doesn't use up any kitchen/pack space. That said, it's a small and cheap coffee grinder; I wouldn't want to try to use it for more than 2 servings in a morning, and certainly not for high volume drip or French press coffee. You'll be grinding for days!
Quality of item is better than pricing indicates. Hex drive is smaller than std 1/4 hex. Socket on adapter is handier than drill for use. Cup is same size is bean hopper and is enough for 12 oz brew per grind.
this is my first grinder %26 I'm really enjoying it so far. its smaller than i expected and i can't get my table spoon measuring cup inside of it but i suppose i can just judge that with the whole bean when loading it. it's really easy to use though. %26 i like that it's both a bur grind %26 manual. I'll never have to worry about a motor blowing out or the likes. %26 I've read that a bur grinder is better than blades. probably for the long term aspect of not dulling out etc. or at least that's one reason lol. but this is honestly a great little grinder and perfect for a novice like me just wanting the freshest cup of coffee that i can make at home.
It's a convenient compact coffee grinder. When I looking to purchase I couldn't decide if the glass bottom was a necessity (there's plastic ones on the market) but I can say I really like it. Couldn't image it being plastic. Grinds well! Did have a problem where the handle knob was loose. It has a rivet that holds it to the metal arm. Probably a problem at the factory or something. I was able to secure it tightly by tapping a punch against the recessed side with the bottom resting on the counter. Easy peasy and hasn't loosened up again with use.
I've been using a variable speed drill to grind my coffee instead of that nice handle that came with it. It works great but you must hold onto the glass container, or it will spin off. The drill must grind to the right which vibrates the glass under it to the left. The handle is more versatile, it's portable and energy free. It only takes seconds with a sturdy drill, and the grinder is very solid as well.
This is actually a quality product but before you buy, understand that it is going to take a lot of effort and time to grind enough coffee for 10-12 cups of coffee. This burr grinder is more appropriate for 1-2 cups.
The grinder looks nice and works in a pinch, but it doesn't grind very evenly. It also takes quite a bit of effort—grinding just 10g of coffee takes longer than expected. For the price it's okay as a backup or travel option, but definitely not ideal for everyday use.
It worked well when it worked. I t ground my coffee beans twice very well. Then it stopped grinding altogether. Maybe I received a bad one but it should last more than two uses even if it cost me $12 especially when my hand is the motor doing the work.
Unless you're going camping and it's just you, do not buy it! It takes about 2-3 mins to ground 1-2 oz of coffee. My hands get tired from it. If you are elderly forget it, buy an electric one like I did after regrettably getting this item.
