These are great for finches. Fill them with thistle, they cling to the bag %26 pull the seeds right through the mesh bag. If using for the first time, poke a chopstick or a pencil through the bag towards the bottom, they'll perch on that until they get used to clinging to the bag. Great feeder!

It's more cost effective to refill these mesh socks with anther Thistle, purchased in bulk, rather than buying prefilled. The finches are alway hanging on these sick to enjoy the seeds. I love watching them and they're happy. Win/win for bird lovers.

these are holding up surprisingly well! i have watched finches, chickadees, hairy woodpeckers, and the occasional wren eat seeds out of these without a problem. no mess below. no shredding of the mesh. and a good deal for 6 in the package. lasts me all year!

They're fine, but my wife doesn't like to see the socks hanging

I expected that seed was included. It was not. Had I known this, I would have bought just 1 pre-filled sock at the feed store.

Bags are all different in size and I had to throw several away. Not cool

Way overpriced! I thought these were filled with birdseed based on descriptions at time of purchase. It specifically mentioned unshelled sunflower seeds and Nyjer seed.
