Works fantastic with intex pump , Make sure to buy the adaptor. The waterflow is 100 x better, no more burning up pumps due to lack of water.

We purchased a 16' Intex pool for some summer fun, but there was never enough power to use a vacuum without losing prime on the pump. After doing some research, I decided to go with the Hayward skimmer. It's super scary to cut a massive square out of your liner, but it'll be one of the best upgrades you can do! After installing, I immediately noticed a difference in the suction power of my pump. Rather than trying to pull water out of two small hoses, the water now flows naturally out of a larger hose, making the pump work more efficiently (in my mind). I was also able to vacuum the entire pool and get so much small stuff off the bottom that I couldn't before! That alone was worth the investment for me. Two additional items I purchased to make the installation seamless was the Game 4560 Pool Adapter Kit, and another Intex Large Pool Plunger Valve. One of the valves came with the pool to be used as the return. I used the second to install under the Hayward skimmer, giving me a way to turn off the flow of water from the skimmer to the pump, so I can clean out the leaf trap due to the design of our pump. The adapter kit just allows you to use all of your existing Intex hoses and connect directly to the skimmer. Other than those two items, the Hayward skimmer came with everything needed to complete the installation. Two things I learned. It's MUCH easier to install WITHOUT water, put my pool was already up. Second, be mindful of your skimmer height when you do the installation. I used the natural ridge of the pool as my guide, but I wish I had gone just a bit higher. It definitely works, but I now need to keep a little less water in my pool than I initially wanted. Overall, I think this is an excellent product and am so glad to have found something to not only keep our pool cleaner on the top, but to finally allow me to vacuum as well!

I have an 18' Coleman pool and what an improvement! My pool didn't come with a skimmer and only came with two inlets that are below the water line. This has made my life so much easier and now I barely skim the pool by hand. I also upgraded to a Flowclear sand filter. It's been about two months and in my opinion these are two must have improvements for this pool. If your pool is full and you need to install this skimmer, no worries. There is a video floating around on YouTube on how to do it and I found it so helpful. I'd recommend putting a shutoff valve below the skimmer. I attached a few pictures. 5 stars!!!

This above ground pool skimmer is amazing. It was pretty easy to install. We were a little scared because attaching something to your vinyl pool and then cutting a big hole is a huge commitment, but it was soworth it. The skimmer collects more bugs and debri than the tiny one that came attached to the pool. Plus it makes vacuuming the pool so much easier and way more efficient.

Worked like a charm on my metal frame Intex/Bestway style pool. Installation was simple, I split the gasket in to 2 seperate pieces lined them up with the inside frame and outside skimmer box, poked holes in the liner then screwed the 2 pieces together. You may need to buy a 40mm to 1 1/2 conversion kit to allow it to work with your existing hoses. Do not buy those cheap hang over the side skimmer, that hang over the sides. great for pools without built in side wall skimmers. have to purchase a separate adapter call game 4560 pool adapter kit if you have the bestway flowclear 1500 gal hour pump with inch and a half screw on hose ends. you use the gasket that came with the skimmer to draw and outline to cut. you can have the water in the pool under your cutline without fesr of it busting out.

We change over to a sand and salt pump before because the original pump burn out very soon, so we had to alter the connection to our pump, the female on the skimmer was to big for our new pump hose, and the adaptor to small. The opening from the pump-skimmer that came with the pool, was round, but the square opening from the new skimmer fit perfectly around the circle. After we install the skimmer completely, we put it for a test run and it work nicely.

I found this item on YouTube decided to order it and it was the best decision I've made to keep my pool clean has a lot of suction and works awesome install is simple just don't forget to order a hose adapter otherwise you can just clamp hose to it like I did mine doesn't leak.. great buy oh don't forget to order skimmer socks helps keep filter cleaner longer
