I use this with pork in the crockpot. Add a jar of salsa verde and cook on low. Makes great carnitas.
I tried the new Chile Verde rub and was blown away by how good it is. My wife brought it home from work and put it in the Instant Pot with chicken thighs, half an onion and a beer. The meat was tender and flavorful - I couldn't believe believe how much I liked it. We made tacos and the next morning were fighting over who got to take the leftovers for lunch. I have the good fortune to have my wife work at Kinders and bring home all the new products to try, but this was by far my favorite.
I love this product! I have always had a soft spot for a good chili verde, ordering it often at Mexican restaurants once I discover that they do it well. I also enjoy making it from scratch when I find the time. The problem is that I can't always find tomatillos in season, and even when I can, it is time consuming to fire roast them and the peppers before skinning and blending with onions, garlic and the other ingredients. This rub also me to impart the same flavor as my homemade sauce in a fraction of the time. I added cubed pork shoulder, A whole onion chopped, a bit of chicken broth and a heavy helping of this rub to my InstaPot. Cooked for 45 minutes before releasing the pressure and turning my house into a saliva-inducing Mexican cantina for the night. I served it with beans and rice and steamed tortillas and every single person at the table inquired about seconds, and some even thirds. It equaled the results of a dish that I have previously spent all day making, in less than 1 hour from start to finish. My husband works for Kinder's, so he brought this home for us to try, and I've already asked him to bring us another bottle. It's just that good!
Was planning to make a southwestern salad with chicken and thought this rub would be a great compliment. Boy was I right - it was delicious!! There was so much flavor - we could taste hints of citrus, herbs and a touch of spice (but not overwhelming). This rub will be my go to when preparing protein for that salad. I highly recommend it.
This is my new favorite spice grab! I love a good verde stew, great for chicken or pork seasoning. Also a really nice flavor add for eggs as well! Added some to my homemade egg drop soup and it takes it to a whole new level. A touch of salt and a splash of Chile Verde on my 'meal prepped' boiled eggs in the morning and I'm a happy girl getting my day started. Very nice!
Added it to the herdez salsa verde and pork chops in the crockpot and it was really good! Love the ingredients too! So many of these seasonings have added unnecessary ingredients that are so bad for you like food dyes, etc and this does not! I will continue buying on a regular basis! LOVE!!
The flavors of this rub really enhance a meal. I used it on a rib eye steak. The chili creates a mild delayed spice with earthy notes. It's fantastic. I would also try it on chicken, fish, or vegetables.
Amazingly delicious!! About medium spice level. Used pork "ribeye roast" cut (25% more than called for) and 1/2 white wine and water.
I made this today in the crockpot. It was sooo delicious.
I remember when it was $2 a pack
