I bought this for my Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten students. They absolutely love using the little mouse! It took some time for them to figure out how to properly connect the green square pieces. If not connected correctly, the platform sits crookedly. They are excited to create new paths to help the mouse get to the cheese. They do need some help with more complicated paths.
I like to buy educational yet fun toys for my niece and nephews. Gave it to five year old nephew- he loves it!!
This activity set is the perfect amount of stimulation, thinking, and reward when the mouse gets the cheese. Bought the additional mouse so each boy would have his own to go with the set. Fast, free shipping from Walmart too. Arrived at their house in 3 days.
My 7 year old loves science and math and anything STEM is amazing! This product did not disappoint! My son has been learning a little coding is 1st grade so this toy is right up his alley! My 4 year old daughter loved it as well although I would say it's a little complicated for her age but it's the perfect toy to play with her brother! He loved teaching her and she loved watching the mouse do what her brother told it! I highly recommend this product!
We received the code and go free in exchange for a review. When it arrived we didn't get to immediately try it out, as I didn't have the right batteries! My 7 year old was beyond excited to begin playing win it (my 10 year old too!). I (and my children!), really enjoyed this product. The children enjoyed it for many reasons. They were able to begin my following the cards and getting the hang of the coding. Once they had the basics down, they set up the "track" really however they wanted! They were able to use their imagination as well as work through any problems that came up with getting the robot mouse to the cheese. They happily cheered when their coding was a success!!!!! I definitely recommend this product to others, as it is a learning toy, without the kids necessarily realizing they are learning. They learn coding, problem solving. It is a great product, and fun too!
I bought these for use at our school, but tried it first with my 6 year old son. He loved it!! He loved setting up the parts to match the cards and he let out a cheer when the mouse got the cheese! This is a great intro to coding and computer science. There are other similar products out there, but this is a great product for a lower price. The orange tunnels don't fit super well so I tend to just reposition them wherever I feel they should be. The mouse doesn't always turn a full 90 degrees depending on the surface of play, but a simple nudge will set him back on track. I'd recommend it to others!
Both of my kids (8&4) loved it! My 8 year old loved that she could follow the design cards and my 4 year old loved coming up with his own plan for Colby. They even worked together to se if they could get Colby to reach our cat! This was a great product that I would recommend to anyone especially looking for a great gift for preschool/kindergarten age children.
We received this item for free from House Party Chatterbox. The set arrived quickly and my kids (8 & 11) were instantly excited and intrigued. My 11 year old couldn't wait to get started. She began setting up a complicated maze for the mouse, but soon realized there was a bit of a learning curve to getting him to go the way. The three of us worked together to figure out the right coding for the path. I loved that it was something we could all do as a family. The mouse is so cute and it's fun to get it right and make him find the cheese. There are lots of different configurations that can be set up. The only downside for us is that my kids seemed to lose interest fairly quickly. However, my youngest loves to play with the mouse on its own and tries to make it pull/push other toys around. They haven't really brought out the maze pieces for a couple weeks. They might just be a bit on the older side of the age range. Overall, we think it's a fun, interactive toy. It's easy enough for kids to understand, but still provides a good challenge and encourages problem-solving. It's a bonus that the mouse is so cute and the colors are bright and fun.
We received this Code & Go to review for our opinion. Both my 4 year old daughter and 5 year old son have spent HOURS doing this! They love programming Colby over and over. The route cards make it so easy to make new routes using the walls and everything color coded is awesome for kids still learning left and right. My husband who is a software engineer had lots of fun making up routes and teaching the kids. I wish we knew about this product before. Definitely will be on my gift giving list this Christmas.
not a good value for my money. poor quality plastic and not very engaging. child wasn't really interested in this. ultimately returned it and got something with more functions/features.
