McCormick Kosher Ground Nutmeg, 1.1 oz Bottle

I really like the flavor of this nutmeg. Not only is it great for baked goods, it is great in your coffee as well. I really like how you do not need very much of it. Since the flavor is very strong, it really adds a touch of sweetness and a little of something else to every day cooking. I would definitely recommend this to friends and family. The only thing I wish is that the bottle was bigger!

My go to spices are McCormick. My mother used them & now I do also. This nutmeg is perfect for so many different things. I use it in my cookie recipes, add it to my morning coffee sometimes, I even put a pinch in my homemade Mac N cheese (try it! lol) You just really can't ever go wrong with McCormick.

Once I received my sample, I went hunting for maybe a new recipe to try. Too many out there, so I stuck to my tried-and-true recipe for a Painkiller drink. What may you ask is a Painkiller? High proof rum, cream of coconut, fresh squeezed orange juice, dole pineapple juice and then Garnish with NUTMEG!!! I went on adventure to find high proof Jamaican rum. Found some Pussers blue label Rum. Then to my local produce junction and found some decent oranges. Next was good old Dole pineapple juice, you know the little one we all love. I thankfully did not have to source a fresh nutmeg nut, nor the mini grinder that I always seems to find the tiny spots in the drawers of the kitchen. Because I have my fresh and tried and true McCormick nutmeg. The drink turned out fabulous. Fresh nutmeg makes the world of difference with this drink. The citrusy notes that come out from this ground spice are incredible when paired with the creamy coconut and sweet rum. If you have never tried using spices in adult beverages, I suggest you do with this one. What a way to showcase the freshness of the spice.

This McCormick nutmeg is delicious! When I opened the jar, the smell instantly reminded me of baking holiday treats with my family when I was growing up. Noticed a quality difference in "strength" vs other store brand nutmeg options. I actually use slightly less of this when making french toast than I used to need before to get a similar flavor profile. I definitely recommend, it goes beautifully in baked goods too.

This nutmeg was so flavorful! I made some muffins and they tasted so yummy. Sometimes nutmeg can be flat but this one was very pungent. I really liked it. As only an occasional baker, I like the smaller packaging because they gives me time to use it before it goes bad. Love it
