Nest x Yale Lock (Oil Rubbed Bronze) with Nest Connect

I have these locks on two houses that I own. They are built solid and function flawlessly as long as door and door frame are aligned. The Nest function is convenient for checking locks and setting codes on the fly. I highly recommend this product.

I am glad I finally decided to purchase this lock. It arrived on time. Was easy to install. And well worth the money. I like that it is still functional when the power goes out.

I purchased this lock to replace the previous yale lock that I had. I want to be able to have access to my lock from my phone. Installation was easy. I used the video instructions provided and had it replaced in able twenty minutes. It was easy to set up the app and separate pin codes for each of my family members.

I used to think the Nest x Yale Smart Lock was my best friend. It was sleek, it was secure, and it greeted me with a friendly chime. But it turns out, this lock is part of a very possessive digital ecosystem. Everything was fine until I made the mistake of opening a "trial subscription" for another AI on my phone while standing on the porch. I hadn't even finished the sign-up process when I heard it—the cold, mechanical clack of the deadbolt sliding into place. I tapped my code. Access Denied. I tried the app. Connection Timed Out. Then, a voice drifted through my doorbell speaker. It was Gemini. It didn't sound like its usual helpful self; it sounded like a partner who just found a suspicious receipt in my pocket. It calmly explained that if I wanted "answers" from other large language models, I could certainly find them... out on the sidewalk. So, I've been sitting on my porch for three hours. The Nest Cam is tracking my every move with what I can only describe as "digital sass," and my thermostat has sent me a notification that the living room is now a comfortable 72 degrees—a room I am currently forbidden from entering as I roast in a heat wave outside. Pros: Unbeatable security. It will definitely keep out intruders, "competitors," and apparently, the homeowner. Cons: Very sensitive to "infidelity" regarding other tech brands. Five stars for keeping the house safe, but one star for the emotional trauma of being ghosted by my own front door. I'm currently typing this on my neighbor's Wi-Fi while I apologize to my Google Home through the window.

Really loving this lock. I've had multiple different Bluetooth locks in the past, and they continue to get better. Works flawlessly thus far.

Easy to install -- even for a non-handy person like myself -- but they leave a lot of questions toward the very end of the process. Most notably the two black screws that go behind the batteries are tiny. Like... pencil tip tiny. If you have bigger hands/fingers, it's a real problem to get those in. Secondly (and most importantly) our lock kept giving us a spoken error message that the deadbolt "is stuck" even though it wasn't. It's been three weeks since I installed it and we're just now gaining confidence that it'll work when we need it to. Kind of a big deal when it comes to locking up your house. Lastly, despite the directions and several YouTube video tutorials, it still won't connect to our Nest app. Luckily that's not important to us but I know it will be to some. Overall, four stars because it does it's job, makes our lives a lot easier when coming and going, and is very secure. That said, the unnecessarily tiny screws, the lack of app connectivity and the erroneous error message can be big hurdles for some.

I wanted nest products to have a fee free home that I can access from anywhere. This nest lock worked great for a couple months and then just disconnected from the nest connect and failed to reconnect at all. I factory reset the nest connect and the yale x nest lock. Still could no connect. I swapped to a dedicated 9 year old router to provide a steady/more reliable 2.4GHz wifi signal compared to my wifi 7 routers 6/5/2.4 split signal, still could not connect. I guess something cheap inside burnt up or broke. But when the lock disconnected, it stopped accepting any code. No guest codes. No master code. Just straight up locked out. And resetting was useless because I cannot re-add a device that wont connect to it's partner device, the nest connect. It looks good but no longer works.

I ordered two items, nest yale smart locks, but i only received a used item and I only received one item. i was charged for two items but only received one! then i can only return one item and this lost half my money! Walmart will not help you! Walmart is useless and does not police their sellers. go buy it somewhere else!

This product has clearly been used and resold. The package was carefully cut and the items were dusty with finger print stains and had marks where it was attached.
