I love this whole house and my sweet chocolate. It's got a great texture. It melts wonderful. I love it and cookies. Nestle's semi-sweet chips are currently still 100% percent real chocolate. Sadly this isn't true of all brands, with many manufacturers reducing the amount of real chocolate in their products and selling a lesser quality item. Hoping Nestle continues to stay the course.

I made pumpkin drop cookies with chocolate chips. The day before, I made pumpkin muffins using Ghiradelli chips..they were HUGE chips, and were not as good as expected in the recipe due to their size. The nestles were the size expected, and they do tend to stay soft enough in the cookie. Generic chips never become chewable in a recipe. The pumpkin chocolate chip cookies were a big hit with my son's friends at work.

Generally speaking, I am a big supporter of generic brands because for the most part, they're just as good, but a few products are worth sticking with the top name brand, and this is one of them. A good way to completely ruin a batch of home backed chocolate chip cookies would be to use the generic chocolate chips. Stick to Nestle's, people.

This product used to be comprised of real chocolate. It is now flavored oils and bioengineered products. Texture is different. Size has been reduced while the price has increased. This means you have to purchase more to make traditional recipes that use 16oz bags. I will not be purchasing this brand or product anymore.
