Patak's Spicy Tikka Masala Simmer Sauce is a good base to go with protein you can add of your choice. A blend of tomato, cilantro, cumin, garlic, paprika, crushed red peppers, ginger, onions and other spices are included in the sauce. The beauty of this sauce is that the added yogurt, milk, cream is already included; it is the most difficult in West Indian cooking for the sauce to get just right; that is why you should use dairy right away. The dairy also seems to tenderize the meat. If you expect to get authentic West Indian taste, you will need to add fresh spices to the blend; as they do and add some protein such as lamb, chicken or lentils. Getting the dairy part is more difficult; however, it is done for you! The amazing flavor of fresh spices is what gives a Wow! If you don't have them; this is next best. I do not like that the best by date was not on the jar anywhere I could find or lid. The jar is good size for a large family but half that size would be better for our family since it must be used so quickly. I would guess half of the sauce could be frozen for later use but not sure yet. The heat level is hot but maybe not to everyone! Remember to keep fresh spices on hand; they can easily be frozen and keep the fresh flavor such as fresh ginger, garlic, onions and more!
I put it on some chicken, veggies and rice I made and it was out of this world! I did make one mistake: I put Tabasco Sauce on the dish before checking it for its heat level. It was still outstanding, but it definitely did not need the Tabasco! This was initially a shot in the dark but it's one of the better blind choices I've made (foodwise). GOOD STUFF.
Yum! Yum! Yum! We are big Indian food eaters in our house and Patak's is our go to brand! This: Spicy Tikka Masala Simmer Sauce is among our favorites - great texture, easy to prepare, fabulous taste - a minimum of 5 servings, but a light eater in the house will make that as many as 7. The jar can be storage for any left overs. Serve over Basmati or Jasmine rice with a side of naan and you have a world class meal in just minutes. This comes in a non-spicy sauce too if your tastes don't call for the spicy flavor. There is yogurt in both the spicy and non-spicy sauce which makes it rich tasting and gives the sauce a bit of thickness.
This is a good shortcut and a good way to save than going to your local Indian restaurant. It's not as spicy as I thought it would be, but more of a gentle heat, like a July morning in the desert. Cut some chicken up, warm some rice or bread and give it a shot!
Patak's Spicy Tikka Masala Simmer Sauce bursts with bold, aromatic spices and a satisfying heat that makes weeknight meals taste incredibly vibrant. It turns chicken, tofu, or veggies into a rich, restaurant-quality curry with almost no effort. The sauce clings beautifully to ingredients, giving every bite a deep, comforting warmth.
I've recently really liked Indian food and I've tried to make it a few times myself. Every time I try to do it it doesn't turn out quite right and leaves just a big mess, so this Tikka simmer sauce really caught my eye. I like how easy it is to make, and it does that a really good bit of spice. It's so flavorful. This could easily be a pantry staple just like a jar of marinara sauce.
I've had this brand before and I really like it. I was surprise and excited to see a spicy version of the flavor I liked. It is very flavorful and I can taste the spices in it. I have a high tolerance for heat so the spicy level is not too bad for me. It tastes great with chicken and also great as a dip too.
This Patak's Spicy Tikka Masala Simmer Sauce has a bold, warm flavor that makes preparing an Indian-style dish surprisingly simple. The mix of tomato, onion, cilantro, and spices creates a hearty taste that works well with many ingredients. I also appreciate that it's gluten-free, vegetarian, and made without artificial flavors.
This was a simple dinner to prepare and surprisingly tasted like it wasn't! Great flavors and not overly spicy. We added potatoes to our chicken to add extra flavor/texture. It definitely has a more unique, distinctive flavor than I recall when having had this meal in restaurants, but it certainly was a satisfying sauce and a simple alternative to going out.
Patak's Spicy Tikka Masala Sauce offers a rich and aromatic foundation with a satisfying, moderate heat that's true to its name. The creamy tomato base is well-spiced, delivering a robust flavor that clings nicely to chicken or paneer. While exceptionally convenient, some palates might find the spice level a touch one-dimensional compared to a freshly made version.
