Patak's Spicy Tikka Masala Simmer Sauce is a good base to go with protein you can add of your choice. A blend of tomato, cilantro, cumin, garlic, paprika, crushed red peppers, ginger, onions and other spices are included in the sauce. The beauty of this sauce is that the added yogurt, milk, cream is already included; it is the most difficult in West Indian cooking for the sauce to get just right; that is why you should use dairy right away. The dairy also seems to tenderize the meat. If you expect to get authentic West Indian taste, you will need to add fresh spices to the blend; as they do and add some protein such as lamb, chicken or lentils. Getting the dairy part is more difficult; however, it is done for you! The amazing flavor of fresh spices is what gives a Wow! If you don't have them; this is next best. I do not like that the best by date was not on the jar anywhere I could find or lid. The jar is good size for a large family but half that size would be better for our family since it must be used so quickly. I would guess half of the sauce could be frozen for later use but not sure yet. The heat level is hot but maybe not to everyone! Remember to keep fresh spices on hand; they can easily be frozen and keep the fresh flavor such as fresh ginger, garlic, onions and more!
I put it on some chicken, veggies and rice I made and it was out of this world! I did make one mistake: I put Tabasco Sauce on the dish before checking it for its heat level. It was still outstanding, but it definitely did not need the Tabasco! This was initially a shot in the dark but it's one of the better blind choices I've made (foodwise). GOOD STUFF.
Yum! Yum! Yum! We are big Indian food eaters in our house and Patak's is our go to brand! This: Spicy Tikka Masala Simmer Sauce is among our favorites - great texture, easy to prepare, fabulous taste - a minimum of 5 servings, but a light eater in the house will make that as many as 7. The jar can be storage for any left overs. Serve over Basmati or Jasmine rice with a side of naan and you have a world class meal in just minutes. This comes in a non-spicy sauce too if your tastes don't call for the spicy flavor. There is yogurt in both the spicy and non-spicy sauce which makes it rich tasting and gives the sauce a bit of thickness.
Is Pataks the king of curry sauces? Yes. Could you make your own with the same ingredients? Yes. Would it be as good? No. Nothing is going to Pataks like Pataks. If you've ever seen a British show or heard someone talk about getting a curry, this is the closest thing you can get without going yourself. It's different than an Indian restaurant in the states. It's a balanced mix of flavor. You can taste all the ingredients. It's not overly rich. It's a different experience. Not better not worse but unique and worth a try. I always keep one stashed in the cupboard just in case I get the curry itch. No prescription needed for this, just Pataks! I love this stuff.
The sauce is packed with flavor and just the right amount of heat. It makes for an easy dinner, just pour it over chicken or veggies and let it simmer. The spices taste rich and authentic, like something you'd get at a restaurant. I highly recommend this sauce.
Patak's Spicy Tikka Masala Simmer Sauce was intense and delicious! After having had their mild sauces, also delicious, this has an unforgettable kick that lingers, but doesn't overwhelm. The classic flavors of Indian curry/tikka masala are boldly present and please the taste buds with a bite, and subsides into a wonderful blend that leaves the mouth wanting more.
Patak's Spicy Tikka Masala has a rich, bold flavor with a heat level that's noticeable but still enjoyable. I liked how quickly it transformed simple ingredients into a restaurant-style meal, though it's a bit spicier than I expected, so sensitive eaters should take note. Overall, it's a convenient and tasty option for anyone who enjoys vibrant Indian flavors.
Patak's Spicy Tikka Masala Simmer Sauce is creamy and flavorful with just enough spice to make your mouth come alive. The aroma is breathtaking and the sauce covers your dish as if they were made for each other. My Sea Scallops and Asparagus and Basmati rice dish was a real treat for dinner this evening. Everyone loved it.
If you enjoy spicy Indian foods then you should try the Spicy Butter Chicken sauce by Patak's. This sauce is a wonderful easy shortcut to a delicious Butter Chicken dish. It is a great shortcut to use when you are craving this Indian dish. A warning that it is indeed very spicy as advertised on the jar. The directions to create the dish are super simple and included on the jar. Definitely give this sauce a try if you're craving an authentic Indian dish.
This sauce definitely brings the heat and has a bold, rich flavor. I enjoyed the spice, but it feels like it's missing a little balance to round everything out. It's tasty, and I would buy it again, but it is just not as smooth or complete as I was hoping for.
