Have LONG followed this Indian Chef on y-tube for his authentic Indian cooking. I trust his recipes and his curry is exquisite. Some complain of it's cost but it is clearly in line with the cost of other high quality spices and LESS than on his own website..
Amazing, incredible curry powder! I have used this so many times already, especially in chicken recipes! It's wonderful in just about everything savory, from veggies to chicken to steak! The smell is elegant and inviting. The taste is like a fine rolled-up rug unfurling, where you get one flavorful experience after another. I have tried several products by Vahdam and I have loved each one. I love that they are made in India and support local farmers as well! It can't get much more awesome than that! Curry is a seasoning becoming more popular in the US, but I still don't think a lot of people realize how good it is on just about any meat or vegetable your preparing! You can even try it on salads for an added punch of flavor! It's a powerful aroma-and-flavor blend, but it's not overpowering at all. Rather, it makes the flavor profile of the main ingredient(s) sing, in my experience! Try it when you're cooking a vegetable in the skillet, or in a pot. When you're steaming zucchini spirals, it's a great add on! It will elevate canned stewed tomatoes. It will enhance the flavor of canned soups. You really can't go wrong with it! Try it on hamburgers, hot dogs, and in sauces like ketchup, mustard, relish, and ranch!
this blend is perfect it brings an amazing flavor and aroma i will be trying it on my popcorn going to mix it in with the coconut oil i use in place of the horrible oils used i bet is going to be amazing just like my chicken curry i made with this
My cupboard is full with different tins of the products made by them. Organic, clean, high quality, great fresh taste, consistent, and affordable. Be sure to read the back story of Vadham. I trust imports more at this point as we are not told exactly what goes into our food and other products now after recent changes to policy. We must research and be safe, this is a crapshoot nowadays. I trust this company. It is not as so many now who care more about profit than people.
for the money it was a small jar
Tastes like original curry spice
Tastes good, but had better from indigenous person making homemade curry. I realize curry is similar to any homemade recipe where it is unique to the family/person. Would buy again, but would try a different retail first. Yes, know to bloom spices in oil.
just recently needed curry for a recipe I wanted to make. I'm not an expert on curry but this curry worked great. very aromatic and added great color.
This curry powder had a really disappointing flavor. Instead of being rich and aromatic, it tasted stale and overly bitter. The spice blend felt unbalanced, with way too much turmeric and almost no depth from the other spices. Even after cooking, the flavor stayed harsh and left an odd aftertaste. I ended up using twice as much as usual just to get any decent flavor in the dish. Definitely not something I'd buy again.
I think it could be a good curry but the safety seal was off. Will Walmart replace this curry with one that is safe to use?
