Pennington Red Cedar Wild Bird Ground Feeder, 12" Square, with Legs, Wild Bird Feeders

This is the best little birdfeeder for our quails. Quails like to walk around and not fly, so having it on the ground works for them perfectly. I always put in just enough birdseed for them to finish so we don't have to worry about getting pests or rodents.

I needed something I could put deer corn out in the yard in that had drainage in case of rain. This is perfect. It comes with little collapsible feet, making it perfect to keep the box above ground level, and tucks away for stacking. Using these, I can go out in the morning, collect the boxes with leftover corn and stack them up on top of each other in the garage since the legs collapse. No more muddy wasted corn left all over the ground. These boxes keep the corn cleaner for the deer to eat, are easy to pick up, stack up, put away. And saves money by not wasting uneaten corn. Win-win. Good buy. Plan on buying more.....

This item is well constructed and a great buy financially. It's sturdy and holds a lot of food. I love the cedar look and my squirrels and birds absolutely love it.

This product was better than I expected in quality and at a very fair price. These are priced twice as much at other retailers. I've seen the item but never purchased them because they were expensive. I believe this will last longer than the items I've been buying.

It took a while for the birds to find it but now they come all the time. I like the red cedar for the price of the feeder I was quite surprised when I opened it. With it being a ground feeder my dog is able to watch the birds from my door window. I do recommend this feeder.

In minimizing the connective points, perhaps to keep cost low, the entire feeder is prone to collapse if one side is snapped. Or at least. that's what happened to one of the two I bought. My own fault it broke, don't get me wrong, but it did expose how barebones the construction is. The frame is very lacking in redundant anchors, such as a mortise and tenon joint, between the frame. Probly askin too much for a product at this price range to have that, but its just something to note. The tray survived and is currently resting on some bricks, surrounded by rocks. The birds ate enough of the feed that I had to put more out on it.

I have 6 of these because I have 4 bird feeders. It's a good idea to empty trays before it rains. If you forget, then hose them clean. I do wish they had larger sizes.

I was opening the legs on it and it came apart. The workmanship was not as high quality as it should have been. I had to do some work on it, but was able to use it in the end.

it was out of square box. the legs were screwed on each different making it wobbly and cheap feeling. It sits very uneven. It was made of redwood. the pictures below show... None of the legs were mounted at the same angle. the picture clearly shows one corner out of square.

1st one, leg fell off, wood too thin to reattach, bought a 2nd hoping the 1st was a dud, nope, leg fell off. so if you're fine using this flat, great product, but as a platform, durability is about a week
