This product is fantastic!!! Clean burning, long burn times, and reusable, all the qualities I look for as a Chef. Prime6 delivers! Whether I'm cooking for my clients, or enjoying time with family outdoors. This is my go-to for charcoal. -Chef Phillip Dell, Food Networks "Chopped" Champion.
Love it! I'll never use a briquette or limp again. Hot searing, long cook time and no replenishing like those old style briquettes. And if you cut off the air supply you can reuse this stuff over again. Oh, no ash either! Clean stuff. Try it, it's a game changer.
Walmart needs to everything in their power to carry this product indefinitely. It is that good! This charcoal lasts way longer than any other product out there. It burns clean and is so nice!
Saw this on Shark Tank. I use charcoal all the time to cook so I thought I'd give this a try. The first thing I cooked was a 4 rib prime rib. It took three and one half hours. Fire lasted the whole time and stayed hot. Next it was 4 steaks , used the same charcoal I used on the prime rib and there is at least 1 more use on that first load of charcoal. Burns longer and hotter. Much less ash than Kingsford. Used my starter chimney to start the first an it took half as long to light. That means less time to eat which is a big bonus. Defiantly recommend.
Saw this on Shark Tank. It performs better than advertised. If you use charcoal give this a try.
Just started using prime6. Very excited to keep trying it. I debated a 3-4 star review... the challenges I'm struggling with giving it a 5-star is it's much tougher to light than charcoal (have to use a firestarter, lighter fluid doesn't work) and the box/packaging is not good (basically cardboard and a plastic bag). Many of the pieces came broken so stacking like showin in many marketing spots isn't possible. That being said, it burns really hot, longer and reusable so I'm going to go with a 4-star. I think the opportunity for this product is great, but currently, be ready to put in the work to get this lighted and usable.
As noted by others, really difficult to light. Filled a chimney with Prime6 and put a lighter cube under it. Cube burned through, charcoal not lit. Did this three more times, none of the Prime6 ever caught. One piece towards the bottom had some white scorch marks but it was barely hot, I could pick it up with my bare hands. By this point I'd wasted an hour so I dumped out the chimney, filled it with briquettes and 20 minutes later they were fully lit. The firebox on my grill is filled with Prime6 so I dumped the lit briquettes on top of the Prime6. If that doesn't get them going nothing will. Either way, won't buy again
Doesn't work as advertised. Burns a bit hotter than regular charcoal - equal amounts considering. But burns out down to ash even after closing up the grill after cooking. When food drips down on charcoal, small pieces of ash float above and on grill and food. Not looking like I'll be a repeat customer.
it doesn't get hot in a big grill, barely lights, no heat. regular charcoal is sooo much better. i went through 60% of the box prior to writing this. i tried a little, i tried a lot. i tried heating it longer, and shorter. maybe its the box i got.... I cant work with it.
Would not light with lighter fluid and fire starter. I added Matchlight charcoal I had and finally I got it going. I was really excited about these but I was unfortunately disappointed. I'm going to keep using them mixed with Matchlight but it's a bummer.
