ours worked perfectly
grandson loves it... they grew to the height shown on box.. yay!!! (even had a blue one reach the top of the water)... set up in October... and although we have to carefully change the water at least once a week (it turns blue)... we have only had 1 crystal tower break off...

Came Broken
Love the idea, my son was excited for the space theme when he opened it but it came with a huge crack down the center of the container. Wish we could have used it!
