As a person that struggles with low moods and a high stress jobI purchased this DL-Phenyalalanine from Swanson's and I started taking 1 capsule (2X a day). One in the morning and one in the afternoon. You won't feel any results overnight, but it will be more gradual. It took about a week before I realized that I didn't feel as stressed as I normally do and felt my over all well being improved.I finally cut back to one capsule a day.Also combine this with one of Swanson's several Rhodolia type supplements as a stack which together seems to amplify the over all well being.

It's a feel good supplement helps with mood and gives a little bit of energy to it, especially when you take other things as well in the same day. Swanson has a really good price on this stuff, I am real happy with this! One if my favorite new supplements. Five out of five; way to go, Swanson!

I hate to write a somewhat discouraging review, in case this may help someone. I know that everyone's different, in terms of what supplement(s) will or won't work. I also must admit to being bedazzled by the positive buzz about this product, so that may play a part in not feeling as if this did anything. Additionally, I'm well aware that "not doing anything" is sometimes a good thing. I've also not had any bad side effects. The company is quite professional. I received my purchase before the ETA, securely packaged, as one would expect from a reputable company. As you can see, it's exactly as pictured. Thank you.

1st thing - I'm sure that swanson's version is just as effective as any other dl-phenylalanine at the same dosage. I just didn't get the effects I had hoped for. I felt "fuzzy" while taking it. I've only taken about 1/4 of the bottle because I wanted to finish my current stack, and use this by itself to see if I get better results.
