Ben's Original Ready Rice Spicy Mexican

I love hot things, like Carolina reaper level hot. So this isn't HOT to me. But it has a great flavor, and I love it with my jalapeno pepper sausages. That's the best thing about these packages. Quick to make, easy to add to other dishes to flesh them out. Works awesome for when I skillet some diced up chicken breasts with various vegetables.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Honestly tastes very similar to rice-a-Roni Spanish style rice but with 1/4 of the effort. Being able to pop this in the microwave and have a solid side dish in less than 2 minutes is ideal with 2 toddlers. Both little kids were able to handle the spice so not too harsh, but we are a family who loves their spices.

The instructions are very clear and easy to follow, even for the most inexperienced cook. The actual rice is fluffy and full of flavor, it has the perfect amount of spice and flavor. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Ben's ready rice is a weeknight dinner's dream! It is perfectly seasoned and ready-package to table- in 2 minutes! The texture of this rice is comparable to rice that would normally take 25-35 minutes to cook. I personally feel it is easier to cook than regular rice as other rice can easily get soggy and sticky if you don't use the correct ratio of rice and water or don't time it perfectly. With this rice, no thinking is involved- just set it to 90 seconds and you're done! You also don't have to worry about additional ingredients needed to achieve the flavor this rice does. In 90 seconds with no additional expenses, thinking, and time on other ingredients, you have delicious rice!

Would rate the heat as a 2.5/5 at most which is good if you aren't really into spice or have older kiddos who like some spice. The texture of Ben's rice is not my favorite but it is great for meals in a pinch. Packaging is easy to use and handle after heating. Wouldn't repurchase though.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Quick and easy side in 90 minutes (in the microwave) and you can make it on the stove top as well. Smells more flavorful then it tastes. Flavor hits as soon as it touches your taste buds, but sadly disappears just as fast. Doesn't really have any flavor once chewed. I was a bit disappointed there were no jalapeños or peppers in the rice. Texture was a bit tough, like rice when it's not fully cooked. BPA free pouch.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This flavor was very meh. It wasn't spicy at all, and extremely dry. We love other flavors from uncle Ben's but this one was just not it. I also had to add salt to make it somewhat enjoyable to eat.
