Brinks Solid Brass 50mm Keyed Padlock with Adjustable 1 7/8in to 4 3/4in Shackle

Just replaced an old lock on my mower shed with this one and it appears much better made and should last longer than the old one. We'll see over time.

This Brink's 50mm Adjustable Shackle Padlock is just the ticket when you need to secure two pieces together, but require more than the average 2 inches of room using a standard padlock. I was trying to figure out what the 50mm measurement was; I measured the width of the padlock and it's 50mm (or 1.968 inches wide.) I use this long-shanked padlock to secure my portable generator to my workbench in the garage. I'm able to run a thick, vinyl-coated security cable twice around the workbench leg and twice around the generator handle and lock both ends of the cable with this Brink's padlock. The opening of the padlock adjusts from 1 3/4" to 4 1/8", so there's plenty of room to wrap cabling, as well as securing thick or wide hasps. The width of the shank is 1 1/16 inch (inside to inside.) It's nicely chromed and the brass padlock housing is a brushed finish. An attractive padlock. Lubricate it occasionally and this padlock should last for years.

Excellent design; the brass on this lock will last for years. I found it to be much nicer than the small padlocks I have used in the past. This one works great in securing a chain to a spare tire for our living quarter horse trailer; particularly like the ability to adjust the lock position. We received this lock through the Sparks Reviewer Program recently.

Extremely solid/well made. They can be used on so many different items. Pack of 2 locks and 2 keys. These ones in particular I bought in hopes that it would be long enough for a heavy duty storage chest, and unfortunately it came just a little bit short. However, I found great use for them in my garage tool boxes.
