Best shortening an everyday low price!

Jose March 14, 2026

This stuff is the best for whatever you can think of I fry everything and it's always the lowest price at Walmart (thank you Walmart). The throwback label brings back good memories.

Gotta stay with what you know, Crisco

Janine May 3, 2026

I bought Crisco do I ever buy Crisco? Absolutely not did I need to seasoned a cast-iron frying pan and thought I would go nowhere else but to Crisco absolutely the rest. I will use in my mini deep fryer, but I automatically had to go to Crisco because it is tried and true for seasoning cast-iron.

Crisco is the right shortening when I bake a pie!

anonymous July 10, 2026

Some things never change. My mom used Crisco to make delicious pie crusts and so do I! The prices have gone up on everything and I have found myself making concessions with some of the items I use. Crisco is definitely an item I have continued to purchase. I don't make pies very often, so I feel like if we're going to have a treat then I'm going to make it right!

Cisco is my go to shortening if I'm frying or baking. I've tried others in baking and sometimes the end product wasn't the same, oilier, not what you want in baked goods!

Good grease

Louis February 12, 2026

I've never used Crisco for baking or frying, but maybe I will try it soon. The solid nature might be of use in certain cooking enterprises instead of what I usually use like vegetable oil, oilive oil, sesame seed oil, and such. What I bought this for, and which I have used in the past, is to grease my bird feeder pole to make it squirrel-proof. It has worked for me in the past. The squirrels can't climb up the pole. The only drawback is the rain. After a hard rain you need to re-grease the pole. That's why I bought 3 packs. I opened a can, and it smells and looks like good grease for my bird seed pole. I would buy it again.

Small Cans

Ziba February 15, 2026

What can I say? It's Crisco. My mom always had it on hand in her kitchen, so it's what I buy. I've used it for 50 years. It's great for baking and cooking. I buy the 16 ounce cans because they sit perfectly on top of the splashboard at the back of my little apartment stove. My only complaint is that the 16oz can costs half as much as the 48oz can, but that's the way commercialism works.

Good stuff and right size for occasional baker

Jimmy March 13, 2026

For the Occasional baker, this is a perfect size. I use this to Make my biscuits with but also use it to fry chicken and chops with. When making biscuits, this adds fluffiness to your biscuits, using straight butter just gives you buttery biscuits but makes them very dense, dry and crusty, So cutting back the butter and adding in some Crisco will make them fluffy and soft inside and buttery and crispy on the outside.

This Crisco all‑vegetable shortening is a kitchen MVP! It delivers perfectly tender, flaky results every time — whether I'm baking biscuits, pie crusts, or cookies. The texture it creates is consistently light and buttery‑smooth, and it mixes effortlessly with doughs for that classic homemade flair. 🥧🍪✨ I love how dependable it is: it doesn't separate, it handles high heat like a champ, and it's easy to measure and work with. Plus, the 16‑oz size is just right for everyday baking without taking up too much pantry space. For anyone who loves baking that melts in your mouth, this shortening is a trusty staple that elevates every recipe. Highly recommend! 😋👩‍🍳🌾

Careful. These are the small cans.

Shirley May 12, 2026

The reason it's not five stars The picture shows the large can, if they pictured the small can, which is what you get, it would be more squatty. There is a difference in a photograph of the large can in the small can. Here I thought I was getting a great deal on large cans, but I ended up with the smaller ones Yes, I know it says how many ounces… But the picture is deceiving.
