Google Nest Secure Alarm System Starter pack Multicolor

Had this for a few months now and pretty satisfied. Gives great flexibility with how to monitor your home as the hub is also a motion detector. The 2 Nest detects are small enough to blend into your walls if your walls are painted white. I like how they can either be used as motion detectors or sensors that sound when contact is broken. Supposedly can also detect glass breaking, but haven't had first hand experience of that. Alarm is loud enough that can be heard outside with door closed (but I doubt neighbors will hear unless window broken or door open (or if they live close enough to you and it's quiet). Very easy to install. Love how can monitor home without having to pay for a subscription. Can easily set it to guard via app (or smart speaker). Can also set it so that it doesn't go off if you have small pets. Lastly, can deactivate with either typing in code, tapping key fob, or via app. I've tried to deactivate with my voice on my Google assistant and it doesn't let me (which I'm happy since I know no home invader can just turn it off by asking it to). So far, have not had any false alarms yet. I know Google discontinued this, but if you find it somewhere and it's at a price you can afford, I'd recommend it.

Very helpful and much needed home security. Very easy to install but notifications are not instant and have lag to get notifications. Alarm Not loud enough to hear on second floor.

It seems to be learning my habits. It was very easy to install. A little pricey but worth it.

Overall, Good. Would rather have the option of getting more sensors and less (or none) of the Tags. Since you can use the App. for activating or de-activating the system, I don't see ever using the Tags. Also, think there should be a setting in Home mode where the window sensors would sound the Alarm - if moved - rather then sending an alert. It's fine during the day, but when asleep at night, I wouldn't hear an "alert".

The good: 1) Easy setup, easy to arm, crazy amounts of notifications when anything moves. 2) After you buy the base station, the other detectors aren't as expensive. The bad: 1) Expensive compared to other brands (Simplisafe is way cheaper for more coverage). 2) You _MUST_ buy the alarm station to use the detectors, they don't work stand alone, so you have to pay the heavy price. The ugly: 1) Now requires integration with Google, which means they steal your privacy. 2) For some reason Hello Google (or whatever the Siri-like AI) is built into the devices now. Can't prevent it from being installed. 3) There are microphones on everything. Why does a motion detector need a microphone? I don't want my office to be bugged with Google microphones. I bought these to get away from their cameras with their microphones.
