Great Value Sweetened Coconut Flakes, 7 oz (198g)

Great Value Coconut Flakes are my favorite on the market. There sweetness level is not overpowering or sickly sweet. It's complimentary. The texture holds up whether you are baking in cookies or cooking it in a pudding recipe. I use it mostly in my yogurt to give it texture, which helps me to eat something really good for me. When I stumbled upon this six pack of coconut flakes I didn't even hesitate. It really is the best value if you are a high consumer of coconut, or if you like to keep it on your pantry shelf. True coconut flavor bursts forth with every bite. You can't beat that!

This is really soft and fresh coconut. I love the sweetened flakes and use this in my cakes, mixed in with frosting, on my oatmeal, yogurt, on toast with peanut butter, and even in my coffee. It's a nice flavor with some health benefits of coconut (sans sugar).

This is just as good as the name brands. I've been using them for years. I like this in my vanilla yogurt, sometimes with some berries or granola. I save a lot of money using the quarts of Great Value Vanilla Yogurt and mixing up my own. The coconut stays nice and moist or 6 months or more.

Great Value sweetened coconut. Always fresh, stores well, long shelf life. Nothing to dislike if you are a coconut lover. Which my husband is. Many uses..Probably not as moist as name brand but great to sprinkle in and on almost all food. I like my coconut cake to be topped with frozen coconut but it's hard to find. So I sometimes add a tiny bit of milk to moisten this.

This coconut is lightly sweetened. I sometimes serve it on fruit for dessert. I think it would work well on the icing for a coconut cake because it's not so sweet that the cake icing would become too sweet.

This has a shelf life of at least 5 years. Nice for adding just a bit of texture and flavor as a topping for baking or cereals. Definitely sweetened. Good price.

This Walmart brand shredded coconut flakes has a good taste. I was pleasantly surprised how well it went as a topping for icing on my cupcakes. Instead of sprinkles on the cupcakes which I ran out of, I used this. And wow! Husband has a sweet tooth so I buy the zero sugar cake mix zero sugar icing and these flakes make it all the more delicious. It's not too sweet.

I bought this to make my mother a coconut cake for her 81st birthday. I opened it and some fell on my kitchen counter and I love coconut so I ate it. It tasted like nothing but mildew!!!! Thinking maybe it was just me I put on a tray and toasted it. Upon taking it out of the oven all you could smell was mildewy coconut!!!! It all went into the trash!! Never again!!!!

This coconut is dry and not anywhere close to the quality and taste of Bakers Coconut but Walmart no longer carries name brand coconut. I will not buy anymore of their brand. I have tried it 3 times and all three times it was not good.

The coconut was not moist and so tough after baking my cake that I didn't take it to a party. I went to the same Walmart where I bought the coconut and bought one of the premade Meyer Lemon Cakes. Will buy the brand name of coconut next time .
