Idahoan Butter & Herb Mashed Potatoes Side Dish, 4 oz

For instant potatoes this flavor ( and all are good) but this one is my fav. Sometimes if I have milk in hand I'll use that instead of water but it'll boil over so you can't hear it as long. Either way it is a very good texture and if you like it chunky but the red potatoes variety if you like creamier you can always add more liquid and keep stirring.

For instant mashed potatoes, these are actually pretty solid. The butter and herb flavor comes through nicely and the texture turns out smooth if you mix them right. It's a quick side that tastes better than you would expect from something that comes out of a packet.

I like this particular instant potato mix because I can use it as is..or..I can add different spices to it, depending on what I'm serving it with because of its more natural tasting flavor. The other potato packets have already added their own spices into it..how they like it.. I have much more flexibility for flavor with this Idaho butter and herb packet.

These Idahoan mashed potatoes side dishes are ALL delicious and so easy to make! My sons love to have them for hiking as they are light weight so easy to prepare. Just boil the water and then add the package contents, stir well and eat up. We really like to add green peas into the mix, too, with gravy on top made from the meat juices. The price is excellent considering it makes 3-4 servings per 4oz package. Left overs (if any) mixed with 1/2 c pancake mix , 1 egg, pepper, onions and garlic make very tasty fried potato cakes for breakfast!

This is the basis for a quick and easy meal for two: Turkey Manhattan. Even picky eaters seem to like this. You need Hormel Square Table Turkey and Heinz Turkey Gravy with 4 bread slices. Heat 2 cups of water to a boil in the microwave while opening a package of Idahoan mashed potatoes into a mixing bowl. Dump the water in and stir the potatoes. They will be perfect! Put the Hormel turkey slices in the microwave for 4 1/2 minutes. Get two plates, put 2 pieces of sliced bread on each plate, add a good scoop of mashed potato. Now you will need to open a jar of Heinz Turkey Gravy and pour it into a microwavable gravy bowl or pop the glass jar into the microwave for 3 minutes after removing the turkey. When the turkey has set for 1 minute to finish cooking peel the plastic off the tray. Using a flat spatula, pie server, or knife lift each slice of turkey and put it on the bread. Use the tray's turkey gravy on the Turkey Manhattan along with the necessary extra Heinz gravy. In about 12 minutes you have a delicious meal.

These are my go to but while i was adding them to my cart I noticed they went up in price for about $3.00 more for a single pack! They were just over $1.00 so i dont know why the price jacked up so high.

I had a tooth extracted and I had to have something to eat so I've been eating potatoes. That was the reason why it ordered this so I can have food for at least you know a few days before going to some other type of meal.

I am old and I hate boiling potatoes for just myself, so this is the perfect solution for me. Economical, microwave in a minute and delicious. They use real potatoes.

It's good for what it is. if I were not just cooking for one, and an incredibly lazy cook, I would use real potatoes. These potato taste good especially with melted cheese and I plan to make a shepherds pie with them this week.
