Lodge wins again (or really, you win!) with this single patty press! It is easy to use, easy to clean, and does the job :)
The Lodge hamburger press is of the excellent quality expected from Lodge products. It is cast iron and should last a lifetime if cared for properly. The lip around the bottom edge creates the perfect thickness for your burger. It is made in USA and is priced competitively. I am very happy with this purchase.
other than delivery person NOT putting it anywhere near my door. but at end of my long driveway where it could have been stolen. this happens often with Walmart delivery!! be it fed ex!! they don't follow direction
Press is great for making smashburgers. I would have rated 5 stars but the handle makes you hold on to the press inside the skillet and grease pops up on your hand. I should have bought the 8 inch press. The 6.25 inch does get the job done, it's heavy.
liked-heavy weight, sturdy disliked- a little too wide
Inside is hollow like a cooking lid. So this might be good for after smashing then covering the burgers with these.
I was expecting a flat press. This one has a 1/4” lip on it that keeps it from making bacon flat but it works great for burgers.
We wanted to use for smash burger, but inside is not completely flat like we thought, so we decided on a different one
this is not a bigger press. it is constructed more like a lid to a pot. it has a large rim around the bottom side that limits the ability to press a burger. The thinnest you could possibly get on a burger is 5/16 of an inch , which is way too thick for a smash burger. do yourself a favor, and either buy a different brand or buy their bacon press and just use it for your burgers.
The edges of the press stick way too far out, so the burger patties don't even get flat enough. This would make the patty the thickness of a regular burger size.
