this was very easy to activate, it can go anywhere you could take it in the car if you wanted to and it has a back up battery so if the electricity goes off you can still use your phone. only fown side was dealing with straight talk to activate it, i kept telling them i wasnt activating a home phone and they kept asking me to check the texts.
We have been using this for our home service over a month with zero issues. Just over $15 dollars a month I do not know of a service that cost less. Just don't buy the refill cards from Walmart because if it does not work neither Straight Talk or Walmart will help you.
I usually don't care enough to write reviews. But It I am super happy with this product. I wanted a home phone that work on a SIM card. Was about to dish out $250 on an opis phone when I saw this. I was worried it was locked to straight talk, but when it arrived, all I did was pushed in my T-Mobile SIM card and in 1 minute everything was green and I placed my first call using my old 90s corded phone. Product could not be simpler. Awesome.
Purchased this new phone base to replace an existing, similar older model. So, we already had home phone service up and running, this was "just" a device change-out (I say "just" because of the straight talk customer service experience in general - ifkyk). Overall, we are satisfied with this upgrade.
I was highly dissappointed because I was not able to keep my same number. I was giving a different home number. If I had not already changed, I would have kept my old phone. Changing my number that I have had for years was not satisfactory for me. You stated in your sells information that I could keep my same number. Just misleading!!!
Easy to set up, looks nice, smaller than my previous home phone router! Only thing that confused me was that the dial tone does not sound like one, but instead is a loud alarm tone. I thought that meant my home phone number had not transferred yet and waited over a week before finding out from my old provider that the line had been transferred!
cant really rate the item until after Im able to activate and use it - that I cant activate yet due to some **** in the shipping dept not scanning the item before shipping it out. Now I have to provide proof that I actually purchased the device. Big pain in the **** and a lot of time invested in this item that was supposed to be a simple set up. See previous comment
The bone itself is great. It's just the process that you have to go through to get it activated as a pain in the butt You order the device online, but you can't activate it because it has not been scanned at a Walmart store so you have to take it to the store. Return the item purchase it back so that it's scanned if not, it comes up like it may have been stolen and was never scanned at Walmart so if you don't mind the hassle as well worth it.
when they sent me the base it was not working and technical support told me to take it back and get my money back and they didn't gave me insurance money back. And I need that base because I am on disability and I need that base for my phone home line service for my 911 life alert because I am falling all the time.
Bought as a backup to my cell, but this newer model has a much shorter battery life that the one I had from Straight Talk previously. Does not have a slot to use a battery power bank with either during power outages as we had with Ice Storm Fern recently. Returned for a refund
