I used to have to always buy this online prior to moving to Florida and the Walmarts down here carry it in-store. For me the absolutely number one use of it is making pancakes. It is a little lumpy so whisk a little bit first - the dry mix and then I use a premier protein for the liquid until I get a pancake like consistency - cook it in the pan - low carb high protein, all the good things. When I use it otherwise I usually use both the Kodiak pancake mix and this to make muffins. I do find it browns faster than things made with regular flour so I will just lay a piece of loose foil over whatever I'm baking for first half of the time or 20 minutes. Since I'm using various non- sweeteners, and I include anything not sugar in that including stevia… they all have a little bit of a bitter taste… this too can have a little bit of a bitter taste So I freeze my muffins and then eat them out of the freezer -somehow that makes them taste less bitter. I also find if you don't use only one kind of lo-cal sweetener that helps things taste better as well. You can make a mug cake using this, sugar-free Jordans skinny syrup and cocoa powder. When I take it out of the microwave, I top it with some yogurt and eat it that way. The mug cake doesn't last- you need to eat it while it's still warm.
I am a diabetic, and this biscuit does affect my glucose level in any significant way. For someone that has virtually given up most forms of bread, this is a special treat. You can also do other things with it like make dumplings, make a cobbler, make pancakes, etc.
A great biscuit and pancake mix for a low-carb diet. It was a little bit different than a regular pancake and a little bit different than a regular biscuit but overall tasty.
I have been using Carbquik for years. It makes wonderful low carb muffins and coffee cakes. I use it to make a high protein, low sugar and low carb blueberry muffin recipe that I developed. Even my picky husband who doesn't like "healthy" baked goods loves these muffins. Carbquik has been a staple in my kitchen for more than five years. I love this baking mix and always have plenty on hand.
I used it too coat it for a fish fry. it was delicious it worked perfectly. it's a lot of flour and can be used to replace all purpose flour in any recipe use the same amount which makes it very easy. the box came with recipes on the outside and on the inside lots of recipes and I found more recipes online. my husband tried a few things I baked and he couldn't even tell. it mix as well with almond and coconut flour.
Made biscuits using stick butter as recommended in directions; DELICIOUS and even though rest of family doesnt eat them so i had them in tupperware for few days, stayed just as fresh as when first made, and if anything, the flavor improved over days. we will be trying next the Carbquick pancakes
I have found that it is better to mix in other things, as it sometimes can be bitter. However, of you want a low cost low carb type flour, it's the only thing I've found that is budget friendly. The texture is also kind of grainy. I got a tip about adding a bit more baking powder and letting it sit for ten minutes to help with texture. Probably the best thing is just to experiment yourself with it and see how, or if, it works for you.
I love this product, but it will expire in a week of it being delivered. I will be returning it and purchasing another box that has a much later expiration date.
The product is great but the driver who was supposed to deliver it said he couldn't find my house when 2 other people delivered my stuff the same day. It made me have to come to the store and pick it up when I paid for it to be delivered.
I bought this to make keto pizza dough. It is absolutely disgusting!! Tastes and smells like play dough!!! Doesn't crisp up, stays really soft. I par baked the dough for 20 minutes at 450. The dough just got darker and darker but it wouldn't crisp. Throwing out the rest if the box and looking for new recipes!
