The advertising seems intentionally misleading. It is not a 5mm bar, it's 1-2mm (see photos). It's not 25mm of padding, it's only 20mm, although it hardly matters because you could only reasonably use 8 total weights (4 on each side) to squat, because the width of the middle bar isn't enough (hard to explain, just know it's really not feasible). There are clearly incorrect images on the website, such as the primary bar setup, which is not possible as the lengths of the smaller bars are too much (see photo). IN OTHER WORDS, the advertising is clearly (and it seems intentionally) misleading.
I contacted their support email. Although they replied, they did not answer my question, and were unhelpful.
With the combined bar, you can basically do curls, deadlifts (up to 90lbs), overheads, and rows.... you can only squat 56 lbs max due to the configuration, so the padding means nothing really, it could just be a bare bar.
It takes a very long time to unscrew and screw in new pieces. I'm thinking of modifying a drill attachment to help.
Honestly, the overall quality of materials isn't bad, it's just constantly awkward. If you know what you are getting into, then this product is fine. THE MAJOR WARNING HERE is don't get sold on whatever idea they are pitching. It's a bunch of awkward weights which aren't easily transformed, and don't operate very well.
Otherwise, if you only change weights infrequently AND you don't plan on heavy lifting AND you know you can do the exact lifts with it, then it should work just fine.
Lastly, I'm assuming this set is very similar to other similar looking sets. If I were buying again, I'd get the one that looks the coolest.
Thank you.
