(4 pack) Hurst’s HamBeens Cajun 15 Bean Soup, 20 oz

I have been using Hurst Been Soup's 15 bean soup mix for quite some time. This year, I started using the Cajun style. I pressure cook them plain in the Insta Pot pressure cooker, adding the Cajun spicing, and a dash or two of Tabasco Sauce after cooking. Finally, I cut up six hot dogs to add meat, and lastly, I add a drained can of kernel corn. Occasionally, I will steam some long-stem brown rice to complement the soup. I fix this soup mix year-round. A pot of the soup usually lasts about 3 or 4 servings, depending on how large my servings are.

Only buy from Walmart directly I didn't realize when I placed the order of a four pack that it came from a company that charged five dollars a bag five something a bag but the product is very flavorful amazing. I just cut up some Polish sausage and put it in there for some meat. It's very good very much worth it.

I have been using Hurst Ham Beens for over 30 years to make a vegetarian version of the 15 Bean Soup by following the recipe on the back but without the flavoring packet or meat. I just use salt, black pepper, and lots of cayenne and garlic in addition to the tomatoes and green chilis, then serve each bowl topped with chopped jalapenos. Mmmm, so good and healthy and affordable, too! Our family eats this regularly at least once a month and several friends have been turned on to it as well.

using the spice packet gives it the taste i like not too high in sodium only 135 mg per serving. i add juice from 2 lemons that gives it zest, and carrots onion celery sometimes cabbage. i portion up about 10 servings and freeze in pyrex bowls. nutritionous meals for a couple bucks each.

The beans were great I used in a couple different stews that I have made soups that I've made the value is excellent for the price I do not understand the question where it asks about salty I did not find them to be salty in the ratings so I only gave them two stars I didn't understand that but no them is a product value is great price was great Walmart deliver in timely manner

I like making it with some type of meat still on the bone. Sometimes with some greens with it. Chefs kiss!

These are the best and at a good price. Beans are good for your overall health. Stay regular and enjoy the protein. We eat these every day. Just a cup is all it needs.

This combination of beans makes great soup, even better warmed up for lunch the next day! Rinse beans, soak overnight then begin cooking. When cooked beans become mostly soft add fresh carrot, celery, onion and potatoes and continue to heat for a hearty flavor. I add ham/ hambone early in cooking process rather than the salt-heavy flavor packet. Salt and pepper to taste. Great with all kinds of crackers!

Ordered the Cajun version for shipping because I am unable to find it in stores. I can only find the regular flavor. When they arrived I received 1 Cajun and 3 regular HamBeens. If I had wanted the regular flavor I would have ordered those. Won't purchase these again for shipping.

I've used this for many years many times. Now, it's god no taste. The consistency of the beans is not right. I put them in a pan to soak on low for 20 minutes and came back and all the beans had turned pretty much the color of pinto beans. Not what it used to be.
