My mom's neurologist recommended alpha lipoic acid 600mg daily, for neuropathy. After I got the okay from my doc, I took it daily for a few weeks but no changes. Decided to take on empty stomach, so I wake up (tinkle), take my ALA, %26 go right back to sleep. When I wake for the day, I feel like I really slept. YAY! No more morning brain fog. I'm instantly connected. It's like I'm a kid again. Does it work for neuropathy? Yeah, a little, but I love waking up now. I'll never stop taking alpha lipoic acid. Per this brand of ALA 600 mg, it's a quality product and a great value, and for me, a bonus side effect. Five stars!

I use this as a substitute for gabapentin 100 mg- as it has caused shortness of breath and anxiety- due to taking it for the last three years. i have CKD and it is detrimental for my condition as well. I had read that Alpha Lipoic Acid is the best substitute for gabapentin- so I'm using that now- I'm taking one capsule daily- hopefully the symptoms of neuropathy will not return- but if it does i will double the dose of ALA- if that fails-then I will seek help from a neuropathy doctor.

My doctor suggested ALA for recent neuropathy symptoms. Worked within 2 days for me. No more pins and needles or foot bottom burning shooting pains. Also use with B complex for support!

I'm re-ordering as this is atomy I've used for a while now. My cognitive functioning has improved. I'm so happy about that. I'm almost 77 so lucky for me I've reached this lucky age.

Excruciating pain as the nerves come alive!!

Alpha Lipoic Acid is a great supplement. It helps in many ways and I need to take it. But I received these and were not able to take them. These pills are one of the many my doctor has recommended but they are the biggest capsule I've ever seen. I suffer from reflux, gastroperisis, and type 1 Diabetes. I can not swallow these due to their size. I will be returning them to WalMart.
