Great sandwich maker
Makes really flat sandwiches, but it does close and latch. Don't pay attention to the time they state, my sandwich was done in about 3-4 minutes not 7-9.

Nice for flatter sandwiches
It's a nice little machine for the price. we've used it a few times and it toasts a sandwich well. If you are planning to load up with a lot of fillings, this thing will squish everything pretty flat, so it's not really the best for a thick sandwich.

I dislike that it doesnt have a timer to let you know that the food is ready and doesnt burned. I like the size, its perfect for me.

it works but broke
So, this works it toasts everything great but within the 3 or 4th use the handle to lock it snapped and broke. I did not use any force I am a pettit woman (weight about 114lbs) so no force was ever used on this to lock it plus, I am the only one who uses it and it just broke. I am still using it because it still toasts.

Brentwood Sandwichmaker explodes
This lasted me only almost nine months. Then, without any warning, it exploded! this was the scariest thing I've ever seen!

A waste of money!
Once again, I cheaped out and didn't get a real panini press. My bad....If mashing (at the most) two slices of regular bread and doing it on an impossible -to -clean piece of trash is your idea of yum, get this. Otherwise, save up and get a good one. It toasted the bread OK, but I couldn't leave my sandwich on long enough —without burning the outside —-to even melt the cheese in it. Otherwise, save up and get a good one. This one is already in the trash.
