Perfectly Chopped, Versatile Pecans for Everyday Baking I needed a large quantity of pecans for a big batch of cinnamon rolls and decided to try the Great Value bag. I was pleasantly surprised by how convenient these are right out of the bag. The chop is very consistent—they're in small, uniform pieces, maybe a quarter of the size of a whole pecan. This is actually perfect for what I needed. They mixed evenly throughout the dough and topping without any big chunks sinking to the bottom. The flavor is good, too. They taste fresh and buttery, not stale or woody at all. Because they're so finely chopped, they toast up incredibly quickly. You really have to watch them in a dry pan or in the oven, as they can go from golden to burnt in what feels like a minute. I learned that the hard way on my first try! So my advice is to use a very low heat or add them at the very end of any cooking process. The 24-ounce bag is a great value for the amount. I used what I needed for my recipe and stored the rest in a sealed container in the freezer to keep them fresh. I'm hoping they maintain that good flavor and don't pick up any freezer odors over time. If you're looking for whole pecan halves for a decorative topping, these aren't it. But if you need a reliable, ready-to-use chopped nut for cookies, salads, or mixing into batter, this bag is a fantastic, no-fuss option.
I'm a baker and you really cannot go wrong by buying these Great Value pecans. Some brands of pecans just don't have a lot of flavor, but these have great flavor. They are great by themselves and in baked goods, casserole, chicken salad, etc. I highly recommend.
I bought this delicious bag of chopped pecans to make pecan pies for the holidays. They tasted so fresh right out of the bag! They also were the perfect size for my pies which came out beautiful and delicious!!! when these go on sale again, Im going to stock up on them. Excellent quality and taste!
Great, fresh taste. Also -- and this is important to me -- there was not a lot of "dust" and "micro fragments" in these pecans -- and they were ideal size for cookies, adding to cereal or granolas, and similar chef's projects. I am delighted with these.
These pecan pieces are always uniformly fresh. Size ranges from half to fractions. They are great dipped in fresh butter. I use them regularly in waffles. I use about half as much pecans as pancake mix, and the results are wonderful!
These work great in smoothies but if I were buying them for snacking alone, I would buy name brand. But for a smoothie, you get the pecan taste, you get the fats and protein and they make my smoothies delicious.
Just be careful when shopping, it's very discouraging when you don't receive what you ordered. I was going to use those items tonight. You either forgot to deliver them or gave to someone else.
Quality control. These are sold by weight so why should I pay 13$ for a bag of Pecan dirt? Yes that's right. Picture following. Trying to eat dusty buried pecans was annoying. To be fair 90% of the time these are great, however the last two bags I've purchased have been like this. So please have quality control be a little more observant. I like these. They are handy for snacks. I will still purchase but after two I'm starting to hesitate. I want to get what I pay for during a time when finances really need to count. Thanks.
This is not what I ordered, and it was priced too high. My in-tire order was messed up. and you have not responded to my other complaints. will you respond to the Attorney General??
The pecan's were great but the customer service that I got was terrible I was overcharged and yet to get a refund which they told me i would be refunded by the 24th which is today but still no refund and I have spoken with at least 4 different customer service attendants
