NETGEAR Nighthawk AX5 5-Stream AX4200 Wifi Router (RAX42-100NAS)

Spectrum on 1gb plan with their router I was lucky to get 450mbps. Once I installed this router, it's night and day! Averaging 850mbps! Crazy fast! Great buy for the money! Both of my sons game on PS5's and they said no more lagging dad! I'm a HERO!! lol!

I've been using Netgear products for my modem/routers for years without any issues. I had to upgrade recently because my ISP was hounding me with claims that the DOC 3.0 was obsolete and I needed to upgrade. I replaced the modem/router combo with a Netgear Nighthawk CM1200 which required a separate router for WiFi. After reading reviews, I settled on this WiFi router and it pairs perfectly with the modem. I have the router hanging on the wall in my home office above where my modem is on the bookshelf. It's light enough to hang easily and I have the cables covered by a cable cover designed for this type of need. The range is much better than my previous router, as well. Couldn't be happier.

Was easy to set up and provides great speed

I have used a Netgear nighthawk for the last 5 years. My previous one lasted much longer than other brands! But, it was time to replace it finally. So lucky to have found it on the Walmart website at a reduced price. Needless to say, I purchased it quickly and now it is sold out. I set it up in less than 10 minutes. Super easy to install and to connect to my Alexa devices, my smart TVs, my phones, and my laptops. My house is 2600 ft.², and two stories. I wanted a dual band, mesh router that would easily hold a signal throughout. So far so good! Though I've only had a very short time, it is working perfectly. Time will tell. However, I trust this brand very much based on previous experience. Highly recommend!

WOW. Our old router was only a couple years old but kept losing it's connection. We are a high use family of 6, using the internet to stream TV, movies and games. What we didn't expect was the incredible improvement of the sound quality of music I listen to on YouTube.

Not an easy set up took 2 days to finally set up and get running correctly. The issue of having to set up App on Mobil devices was not satisfactory. Tried to bypass as recommended on YouTube but ran into issues on computer ? . And I was following the set up thru website. After all this it's finally working on all Devices, will monitor for quality of not going offline. I Will continue to try and set it up on computer because if I lose my mobile phone I won't have a way to access the device.

This router is not secure by itself. It will not connect you to your tv, computer, or phone by itself. You will need to download the APP to make the router secure. The APP gives you the 1st 30 days free, after which you will have to pay for the security monthly. So I went back to using the Spectrum internet Router which immediately connects securely to all your devices, without having to use any APP. If you want to add other devices to your router such as a camera to your front door, so you can see who is at your door using your phone APP, then this Netgear Nighthawk router is for you.

Netgear is such a horrible company. Their products stop working after the warranty and they expect you to pay a subscription to get technical support for their faulty products. What a scam! I reported this to the BBB and might seek legal action against them for their horrible products and services. I've never had any issues with any of my routers in the past and decided to give Netgear a try and I regret it. Please don't waste your time and money on this product

We hooked it up and it did not work. And we hired a tech person to come try and computer guy said it won't work to send it back . It came to us broke and was probably a refurbished router.

NETGEAR runs a fraudulent process with ALL its customers who call their toll-free help line. It is simply, "sell every customer one of 3 security contracts [ranging from $189/3 yrs to $389/lifetime] before helping them unlock their product wifi capability." This usually occurs only when a customer adds a device that wasn't previously part of their wifi network installation.
