Best grill i ever owned. Love the ash tray and its ease of use... take out and dump.. nothing more easy to do.. This grill is built very well and sturdy, years of cooking on this one... best grill for the money ! but dont forget the gasket heat felt... its a must for no smoke leaking, keeping that savory smoke flavor rolling across your food .
This review is simple, I wanted the best charcoal grill on the market and now after using 4 times I know I bought the best charcoal tabletop grill on the market, this was an intelligent purchase for myself I recommend everyone who is looking to buy a charcoal grill in the future to buy this Oklahoma Joe Rambler charcoal grill/smoker or any Oklahoma Joe grill/smoker product and it will not let you down.
We have owned the Rambler for about a year now. It has been from the Hill Country to the beach and been used as a grill and smoker. Very durable and have not had any rusting issues with the grill grates using a little olive oil and stored covered outside in a humid climate. Do take care of the gap around the lid with a little gasket tape and be careful when opening and closing the lid as the rear hinge gives the lid some play. You can definitely use as a smoker as long as you run an offset setup and go easy on the quantity of charcoal/wood. This thing can get really hot fast!
Love everything about it. So easy to put together, the simplicity and the way it works is perfection! Cured it and grilled some t-bones and they were finger licking good. Did I mention that you can take it with you whenever you go. Already have the Longhorn smoker as well and I can't wait for the “TAHOMA” to come out so I can have the terzetto.
This was a gift over Christmas. While I haven't put it to extreme/constant use, the times I have used it were awesome. The intended use is at our weekend getaway or when we are traveling, tailgating. Running the grill is easy, it heats up quick on minimal charcoal. The adjustable height for the coals is a very great feature, need to reverse sear anyone?? As a smoker I stretched it from an OK Joe's beef jerky recipe to steaks, wings and even cheese, yes in a Canadian winter it'll go that low and slow. My only complaint is some shoddy spot welding on the outer shell. The very bottom sheet has let go along the back seam. Easily repaired once I can get to my welder. That is the only reason the quality rating gets an average. The fitment, the rest of the build, the finishing and even installing a gasket get top marks from me.
Works great for extra cooking space for large cooks, and great in the bed id the truck for outings.
For me this is the perfect portable charcoal smoker. The quality is really good and is super affordable. With some experience your going to be able to control temperature and cook everything you like with this smoker. 4 stars because it came with dent in the front ash tray, but it just appearance.
I bought this a month ago as a birthday gift for my husband , wasn't happy when we took it out of the box, the frame was bent so the lid didn't close right, my husband was able to bend it back, don't think I'd buy this again, thought it'd be sturdier
We didn't get any of the hardware needed to put the grill together. Be sure you are actually getting an order fulfilled by Walmart, not a 3rd party seller.
The top grill grates rusted very badly over night on the first use. Only 6 days old, called customer service and they will replace the grates but on back order 4 to 6 weeks from China. I will not use due to rust and or bad metal. Looked Nice and well-made at first look but now not so sure.
