Top quality 100% whole white wheat flour. Very tasty spring wheat. Very thirsty flour. Finely ground. Will not work in a bread maker unless you add upto 1/2 cup of vital wheat gluten or use a sucessfull bread flour recipe and add 50% flour to allow for structure. Bread maker machines punch down and rise too many times and that makes the flours gltuen get cut by the whole grains when going through that many rise and punch down cycles. I soak 25g for 30min then load bread machine setting to whole wheat to allow a 30min preheat to autolyze then start the kneading. when kneading completes I remove the paddle and push the dough out to fill all edges of the pan to form or shape the for one rise. Then I put the bread machine into bake only mode to cook the loaf once it rises to the desired height. This flour produces a wonderful toasty flavor and stores very easily in its own ziplock bag. The above recipe works as a method to prepare the dough fromeverything from bagels to bread loaves.
Wheat Montana makes excellent flour, and I think Prairie Gold, which is a white whole wheat, is the best for bread and cookies. I have been using it for several years and was sad to find it hard to buy locally. Now that I can get it from Walmart, I'm pleased.
This is the BEST whole wheat flour I've ever used. It gives the best results in substituting in recipes. I use it for bread and all other value goods!! It's made from white whole wheat and so lighter color, better texture!!
My local store doesn't stock this flour so I have to drive to another town order it online, but it is so worth it because it makes the absolute best bread. The bread rises better, looks better, and tastes better than any other brand of flour I've tried. I get free shipping because I order this flour along with a list of my other usual items until my total reaches $50. But be sure to have things shipped to home and not store pick up, because it takes much longer.
This is not white whole wheat but is from a different variety of wheat (it's a hard white, not a soft white). Not as hearty/dense as "regular" or red whole wheat but more flavorful than white whole wheat, you can use this as you would any flour, in cookies, cakes, breads, etc. I wish my store still carried it but it is great that I can order it online for free in-store delivery.
Started using this instead of Bronze Chief due to its lighter texture and results. Consistently great flour.
This flour is excellent. The flavor and texture are very light, making it an ideal substitute for refined flour. I use it for all of my baking.
Use this mainly for bread. Works great. Price has gone up a lot, as with everything else. Buy it due to being glyphosate free and non gmo.
Flour is great, has good flavor. One of the bags arrived with a torn spot, but seller took care of it.
I love this white whole wheat flour and can't get it in my area. I happened to be in Kansas City, so I bought as much as I could fit in a carry-on and flew it across the country. So excited to have it!
