Bob's Red Mill, Sweet White Rice Flour, 24 oz

I was looking for this specific product for a recipe I use occasionally. I tried other health foods stores and sections, but to no avail. I was glad I could locate this product here after a ton of searching, and will be glad to have it ready to go the next time I make those black bean bars!

This product makes a nice gluten free white sauce.

Great product I've used it to make strawberry daifuku, mochi ice cream and the Hawaiian butter mochi recipe printed on the package I bought. There's plenty in one 24 oz bag and I plan on making dango with the rest. I appreciate the zip bag. Much easier to store and use plus way less messy than boxed mochiko and the flimsy film bags at Asian markets. Those contain way less flour as well.

I hadn't used this type of flour before, but it's been great. I'm learning Korean cooking and I've send this flour several times already. Mixed with wheat all-purpose for pa jeon (scallion pancakes), used straight for injeolmi (like mochi, in a way) and in the picture, some pumpkin soup with chapssal sae-al-shim (rice balls which almost reminded me of a cross between matzoh balls and American southern dumplings).

I love Bob's Red Mill Sweet White Rice flour for making gluten-free baked goods! (I use it in America's Test Kitchen gluten-free flour blend). The baked items are always so much flakier, lighter and tastier than when I use White Rice flour. I also use only Bob's Red Mill flours in my gluten-free baking--I prefer the taste and texture with your products! (America's Test Kitchen blend uses the (Sweet) White Rice Flour, Brown Rice Flour, Potato Starch, Tapioca Flour and instant non-fat dry milk. I store the ATK blend in the refrigerator).

This Bob's Red Mill Sweet White Rice Flour (glutinous rice flour) is an outstanding and almost perfect product. The only suggestion that I have would be to mill it to an even more ultra-fine level, such as the way that Thai sweet rice flour (usually referred to on Thai labels as glutinous rice flour) does. Then the mochi (or whatever else is made with the Bob's Red Mill sweet rice flour) would come out even more silky smooth than it already does. Nevertheless, it still is delicious. Also, adding California-grown to the label (as I believe it is California-grown) would be helpful as that is a positive attribute.

Sweet white rice flour works great with my own personal GF flour blend for using at home. Store bought already made cup per cup GF flour does not even compare. I used other Bob Mills GF flour products with my GF flour blend as well, but can normally buy the others in the store. The Sweet white rice blend is not sold in the stores where I live, so I need to buy online.
