This is the only vanilla product I use in baking. Watkins has been making this baking vanilla for well over 100 years. It has a smooth vanilla profile that marries well with other flavors in your baked goods, enhancing them rather than competing. You can't beat the price on this 8 oz bottle, either! I just wish it still came in glass.

Watkins vanilla is one of the better tasting vanilla's at a reasonable price. In a pinch I prefer using this vanilla in my coffee and in recipes. This vanilla is the best vanilla I have ever used. I have tried some of the more expensive ones also but in my opinion there is no point spending the extra money to buy them because Watkins brand is every bit as good if not better then some of your more expensive brands.

It's the Rolls-Royce of vanilla extract. It cost $8.99 for 8 ounces which I find expensive but you know what I hate to say this it's worth it. Been noticing that every time I say something positive about an item, it seems to me that I have a great following because four or five items that I have given excellent ratings to have jumped double or triple in price cause of supply and demand. I'm gonna keep a close eye on this item that is now $8.99 for a bottle of 8 ounces. If I see it jump in price, I am no longer giving Walmart any more reviews because it's hurting my pocketbook

I'm not sure I would buy this again. I have always appreciated Watkins products so I tried this when I couldn't get my preferred pure vanilla extract. To me, it tasted funny since the composition is different. It includes sugar. I didn't like it as much as my regular stuff for baking, but I think it would be useful when making certain things where the alcohol won't bake out, such as ice cream.

This vanilla is great for baking regardless of the recipe. However with smoothies, I found the taste to be a bit off putting with a chemical aftertaste if not blended with large quantities of dairy and fruit. It's not very subtle and overpowering. Great for baking, not so much for consuming on the fly.

It is not pure vanilla extract. It is an amalgamation of water, sugar, glycerin, vanilla extract, alcohol, natural flavors, and fruit juice. Who puts fruit juice in vanilla extract? Why is water the first ingredient? Then SUGAR?!? I will never buy this product again, and I am grossly disappointed that this was listed as pure vanilla extract. I guess if it says “and other natural flavors“ on the label, run. I paid premium for sugar water with vanilla flavoring. It taste like the cheap sugar-free coffee syrups and smells fake. So disappointed.

The item received is NOT the pure vanilla extract I ordered.

I'm returning this item. It has several added ingredients no pure vanilla extract. Very disappointing. Shame on Watkins for adding things that don't belong in the ingredients.
